The death of Black Canary and Justice League is leading to the rise of a brand new legacy hero, as Red Canary will debut in an upcoming issue of the current Dark Crisis event. On his Twitter account, writer Joshua Williamson showcased the brand new legacy character and her amazing Dan Mora-designed costume. The Red Canary will debut in the upcoming Dark Crisis #3 from DC Comics.

The Death of the Justice League has created a new age of heroes of sorts in the DC Universe. With Batman, Black Canary, Superman, and Wonder Woman among the Justice Leaguers defeated in a deadly battle against Pariah and the Great Darkness, some of the world's greatest hero's teammates, sidekicks, and understudies are stepping up in their place. The new Justice League features an unlikely assortment of characters, including both Blue Beetles, Dr. Light, Jon Kent's Superman, Harley Quinn, and Booster Gold. In addition, another hero is making their presence known, as Red Canary will debut in a future issue of Dark Crisis.

On his Twitter account, writer Joshua Williamson shared a brand new legacy character coming to the pages of DC Comics, as Red Canary will make his first appearance in the upcoming Dark Crisis #3. The hero is designed by Dan Mora, with the artist fresh from creating an amazing new combination hero of Batman and Superman. The new Red Canary sports a red leather jacket, with spikes on the shoulder. The jacket has a giant canary logo on the back. Like Black Canary, she has a black bodysuit and wears fishnet stockings. An interesting detail is her mask, which is reminiscent of the Huntress - which might be a clue about who Red Canary really is.

Is the new Red Canary Sin Lance, the adopted daughter of Dinah Lance? The hero first appeared in Birds of Prey #92 by Gail Simone and Paolo Siqueira. A skilled martial artist, the young hero spent time with the Birds of Prey, which could be why she has a mask similar to the Huntress. Following Black Canary's death, Sin could be returning to take on her adoptive mother's mantle - but that's just our speculation, even if it would make sense.

Regardless of who the new Red Canary turns out to be, it seems that, even after Black Canary's death, the hero's mantle will live on through the new legacy hero in the DC Universe. Readers can see the new DC Comics character, Red Canary, debut in Dark Crisis #3, which arrives in comic book stores on August 3rd.
