Some horror movies, especially slasher flicks, seem to get a reboot or a sequel every few years. Those movies have a lasting legacy with audiences that love the scare. While The Faculty hasn't seen any reboots, it's a reboot itself of 1951's The Puppet Masters, and one that's become a cult classic.

When it was released in 1998, it was full of actors who appeared in a lot of '90s movies, like Clea Duvall and Elijah Wood, or actors on the rise, like Jordana Brewster and Josh Hartnett. The combination of new talent and known players worked in the movie's favor as the audience didn't know which teen was really an alien in disguise. A similar combination of new faces and known teen talent would need to be used to get the same effect today.

Delilah - Ariela Barer

Originally played by Jordana Brewster, Delilah was one of the most academically inclined students in school and a true queen bee. Editor of the school paper and the head cheerleader, she's ambitious, but not always understood by her classmates.

Delilah needs a young actress with a commanding presence who has the ability to flip between queen bee and outsider with ease. Ariela Barer, best known for appearing in every episode of Marvel's Runaways series, would be a great fit.

Stokes - Olivia Rodrigo

'90s teen movies always featured a handful of characters who were the outsiders of their high school. Clea DuVall played her fair share of them, including Stokely, or "Stokes."

With the release of Sour, some might think Olivia Rodrigo's songs could provide the soundtrack for teen movies without her appearing in them, but Stokes would allow her to stretch her acting a bit. She's primarily known as the sweet Nini in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, but her music videos show she can play edgy too. Stokes would allow her to play against the role High School Musical might see her typecast as.

Zeke - Charlie Gillespie

Zeke is the school's resident bad boy, brought to life by Josh Hartnett in one of his first movie roles. The character isn't just a rebel though, he's also an intelligent entrepreneur repeating his senior year. Zeke manufactures his own illicit substances, which he sells to the student body, and is the one who understands the chemistry necessary to eventually take down the alien beings at the center of the story.

The audience needs to buy that Zeke is rebellious but has a heart and a brain to go with his bad behavior, which is why Charlie Gillespie would make for an interesting pick. He's best known as one of the titular Phantoms belting out songs in Julie and the Phantoms, and he's shown a knack for breaking the heart of the audience and charming them in the role in equal measure.

Stan - Noah Centineo

Shawn Hatosy played Stan, who was supposed to be the classic "big man on campus." Initially dating Delilah and playing football, Stan feels like there's something missing from his life and wants to bring his grades up in school, focusing more on his future.

Noah Centineo has made a name for himself largely thanks to Netflix's slate of teen movies. Attaching him to a horror movie remake gives the audience someone they can easily recognize if they don't already know the other up-and-coming cast members. Centineo has already played a variation of Stan's character in the To All The Boys movies as well, so he'd easily nail the role.

Miss Burke - Vanessa Morgan

Miss Burke is a reserved teacher who just wants the best for her students. She appears to take a special interest in Zeke, which he reciprocates by repeatedly offering to sell her things out of the trunk of his car.

Vanessa Morgan would definitely be playing against type as the shy teacher, but after playing high school students for years, it's time movies and television roles allowed her to act her age. She's been able to do that a little bit with Riverdale jumping forward in time, but Miss Burke is so different from Toni Topaz, who remains one of the best Riverdale characters introduced after the first season, that Morgan could really have fun with the role.

Nurse Harper - Neve Campbell

It only seems fair that in remaking a cult horror classic of the '90s that someone who actually appeared in a '90s horror movie make it into The Faculty as well. Neve Campbell is one of the most memorable Final Girls thanks to the Scream franchise.

Though the role of Nurse Harper isn't a huge one, it's one ripe for a cameo appearance from someone like Campbell. The nurse ends up infected with the alien parasite and attempts to infect multiple students throughout the movie as well.

Coach Willis - John Cena

The football coach of The Faculty is a little angry - and he was also played by Robert Patrick, best known for his roles as villains in action movies at the time. He was someone the audience could believe would actually be the bad guy here, though there was a twist that could always be changed up in a remake.

While John Cena is known to wrestling fans first, he's been busy appearing as both heroes and villains in action movies. He's easily believable as a small town football coach who ends up in over his head.

Principal Drake - Adina Porter

A split image of Bebe Neuwirth in The Faculty and Adina Porter in Outer Banks

Principal Drake was played by the sitcom and Broadway veteran Bebe Neuwirth, and while the role isn't as big as the teens at the center of the drama, an equally versatile actress - and one who radiates authority - is important for the part.

Adina Porter is a television mainstay. She's been in everything from American Horror Story to The 100. She also appeared as a small town sheriff in the first season of Outer Banks, trying to stop the Pogues from making their worst decisions. It's not a big leap to see her playing a strict high school principal the teens could mistake for an alien queen.

Marybeth - Brec Bassinger

The sweet-as-pie new student just as the aliens start taking over, Marybeth starts hanging around Zeke, supposedly intrigued by his bad boy ways. In reality, she's studying this group of teenagers.

Marybeth's real identity is the original movie's big twist. It doesn't have to be the same in a remake, but that doesn't mean Brec Bassinger would be any less suited to the part. As the titular Stargirl in CW's series, Bassinger brings an earnestness to the part that could sell the audience on any role.

Casey - Jonathan Daviss

A split image depicts Casey in The Faculty and Pope in Outer Banks

While most horror movies have a Final Girl who manages to outrun the killer, The Faculty is unique in that the last person standing in the fight against the aliens is Elijah Wood's Casey. He's a photographer for the school paper and seemingly the stereotypical nerd.

Jonathan Daviss is part of the Outer Banks ensemble as Pope, but as is true of the entire main cast, Daviss could easily step into the spotlight as the lead. The high octane structure of Outer Banks isn't unlike that of a horror movie, after all.
