After years of Back and forth between Ezra Miller and Warner Bros, we’re finally getting a Flash movie set to premiere in July of 2022. Without much news about the plot of the movie, we should still be very excited about the scarlet speedster's first official movie on the big screen.

Yeah, we love Grant Gustin as The Flash on the popular CW show, but with a bigger budget and a cast of experienced actors, we can’t help but get excited about the movie. Here are 10 reasons The Flash can be the best film in the DCEU.

The Lore

The Flash was created as a way of combining sci-fi with comics and they did it beautifully. From time/dimensional travel to all the weird and wacky villains, the movie has plenty of influence to choose from. The Flash also has a huge history of heroics, including sharing the mantle with his prodigy, dying and coming back, and changing the entire DC timeline.

The Flash also has one of the best lines of rogues, only behind Batman and Spider-man, meaning shooting the big bad wouldn’t be too much of a problem. As the show has shown us, The Flash has a lot of wacky and weird rogues and adventures that are just too entertaining.

The Main Cast

Barry and Iris are one of the most well-known couples in all of comics, rivaling Lois Lane and Clark Kent, and Peter Parker and Mary Jane.

Unlike the other two ladies, Iris is much more than a damsel in distress, in fact, she’s often the one right next to Barry when there’s trouble and is often headstrong of the two.

In the Flash movie, Ezra Miller and Kiersey Clemons are playing the pair and they both have a lot of experience in hit movies as well as good chemistry onscreen.

We should see the love portrayed beautifully by these two.

The Story

Ezra Miller as DCEU Flash and Flashpoint.

If the rumors surrounding the movie are correct, the new Flash movie could be a loose interpretation of Flashpoint. This is arguably one of the best Flash stories to date and really cements Barry Allen and the lore behind his legacy as The Flash.

For those who don’t know about Flashpoint, the story revolves around Barry going back in time to save his mom from death, only to come back to the present and see that the entire world had changed.

Bruce Wayne had died in the alley instead of his parents, Kal-el landed in Metropolis instead of Smallville and became a government experiment, most importantly Wonder Woman and Aquaman were at war.

In an attempt to bring back his former life, Barry once again ran back in time, this time letting his mother die but changed the whole DC universe in the process.

This plot could be a hug reset button to the DCEU, (Pattinson taking over for Affleck), and all the other changes.

Reverse-Flash

Reverse-Flash tears off the "skin" of The Flash covering him.

As mentioned above, Flashpoint was one fo the best Flash stories and the man responsible? Reverse Flash aka Eobard Thawne.

In fact, Thawne played a huge role in Barry’s life, literally stalking  Barry throughout his life and making it as miserable as possible. He was the one who killed Barry’s mom and in turn became one of Barry’s greatest enemies.

Reverse Flash is as chaotic and unpredictable as the Joker and as smart and cunning as Lex Luthor, with an unhealthy obsession with making Barry’s life.

This could translate beautifully in a movie and plot.

The Costume

The Flash about to run in Justice League

We’ve already seen the costume in Justice League and fans everywhere are in agreement that is one of the best costumes the DCEU has had to offer.

The costume stays true to comics with the crimson and the yellow and white lightning insignia in the front. With a few changes to explain why Barry can run so fast without his clothes bursting into flames.

Flash’s Powers

As the show expands upon, The Flash has a lot of powers besides his ability to run really fast. He has a vast array of powers with his connection to the speed force, powers that Superman only wishes he had.

Along with his ability to run at high speeds, Barry can run through dimensions and time, he can phase through solid objects, throw lightning, interpret events in slow motion, and many more powers.

Seeing these come to life would be great to see in a DC movie.

The Effects

DCEU Continuity Flash

No movie has ever really revolved around a man who can run at immense speeds, so this would be a first for sure. If you thought the special effects in Aquaman were cool, wait till you see what they can do on The Flash.

The slow-mo action shots, the phasing, the lightning, it would all look amazing on the big screen and take visuals to a place they don’t often travel.

Flash Family

Flash Family

Besides Iris, Barry has inspired a team of speedsters that are lovingly called the Flash Family that includes Jay Garrick, Kid Flash, Jesse Quick, Impulse, and many more great speedsters.

With characters with a fanbase like Jay or Wally, it would be foolish to not at least mention any of these classic characters in one way or another.

Cameos

Batman-and-The-Flash-in-DC-Comics-The-Button

The Flash is a likable hero, he usually gets along and works well with other heroes and even has the respect of Batman himself for his approach to solving mysteries.

Seeing that he works well and has a bromance with Green Lantern Hal Jordan and a complicated friendship with Batman.

in 2022, the new Batman movie would’ve already been out so a cameo from the Dark Knight wouldn’t be out of the question and a cameo from Hal Jordan would be amazing to see on the big screen.

Humor

The Flash is almost always portrayed as the easy-going and less serious hero, whether its the corny humor of Barry Allen or the immaturity of Wally West.DC is well known for its dark and gloomy stories and that has been prevalent in many of their movies and animated shorts.

As a comical hero as he’s shown in Justice League can break free of the gloomy and gave us the chuckles and relatable humor we’ve missed in the DCEU movies thus far.
