The beauty of reality TV is that there are always chances to expand. If a show is doing well, there's a possibility that a spinoff can occur. Sometimes those spinoffs aren't as good as the original and it dies off, but there is a small percentage of spinoffs that do better than the original series.

Reality-TV networks like Bravo and MTV have some of the most popular shows, not to mention even more popular spinoffs. Regardless of the show's concept, sometimes the dynamic between the cast or the difference in storylines is enough to separate the series' and create an even broader fanbase.

Vanderpump Rules Is More Dynamic Than The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills

The success of Lisa Vanderpump on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills launched a spinoff for Bravo, Vanderpump RulesIn RHOBH, Lisa was seen opening a restaurant of hers called SUR. While at SUR, a few of the servers and bartenders were introduced in a way that made Housewives viewers intrigued.

Vanderpump Rules first aired in 2013 and is currently on season 9. What makes the series a standout compared to RHOBH is the connection between the cast. The entire cast is familiar with each other as they're either best friends, exes, or are dating each other. While the Housewives are close, they don't have the same kind of history that the cast of Vanderpump does.

The Hills Was More Intricate Than Laguna Beach

In 2004, MTV released Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. The show focused on a group of high school students in Orange County. Starring Lauren Conrad and Kristin Cavallari, the series launched the careers for a few castmates and created a stir with fans because of the high school-based drama.

The series lasted for three seasons before a spinoff came to, The HillsThe Hills had a newer cast and followed Conrad on her mission to work in fashion. Her new friends were also introduced in the series, creating dramatic scenes that live rent-free in every fan's head. The Hills did so well for six seasons that another spinoff was created, The Hills: New Beginnings. 

Bachelor In Paradise Is More Entertaining Than The Bachelor

The Bachelor is one of the most well-known reality series. After premiering in 2002, The Bachelor is currently on season 25 and has inspired a plethora of spinoffs. From The Bachelorette to Bachelor Pad, there is so much producers can do from this vast franchise.

However, one of the best spinoffs is Bachelor in Paradise. Fans can agree that as good as The Bachelor is, Bachelor in Paradise is more entertaining. The Bachelor focuses on one man and a plethora of women, but Bachelor in Paradise stars men and women from both The Bachelor and Bachelorette as they get to know each other under one roof. The spinoff did so well that another spinoff was created, Bachelor in Paradise: After Paradise. 

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Is Better Than Extreme Makeover

In 2002, ABC premiered Extreme Makeover. The show didn't just focus on people who wanted to change their wardrobes, it focused on those who wanted plastic surgery on top of new wardrobes, makeup, and hair. Those who loved a good makeover movie like Clueless flocked to this show but it didn't last. The series lasted for four seasons before a spinoff was created, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition has been on for 10 seasons. Ty Pennington hosted the series for years before being hosted in recent years by Modern Family's Jesse Tyler Ferguson. In the show, a family who was down on their luck received a complete makeover on their home by professionals and the community. It was a heartwarming, feel-good show that did better than Extreme Makeover.

Million-Dollar Listing New York Has A Better Cast Than LA

Bravo's Million Dollar Listing started in Los Angeles before creating a franchise and expanding to New York, Miami, and San Francisco. Million Dollar Listing: LA has been on for 12 seasons and focused on primetime real estate agents on the West Coast, Josh Flagg, Josh Altman, and Madison Hildebrand. And while the show is hilarious and informative, there's something more special about Million Dollar Listing: New York.

New York's realtors (Fredrik Eklund and Ryan Serhant) had a great banter in the show and were entertaining to watch. Both markets in LA and New York are competitive and expensive but the characters in New York are what separates it from Los Angeles.

Teen Mom Is Deeper Than 16 And Pregnant

In 2009, MTV released an original show, 16 and Pregnant, that focused on 16-year-old girls and their families as they embraced teenaged pregnancy. Viewers followed the teens on throughout their pregnancies and were dying to know how their lives went after the fact. That's when the spinoff, Teen Mom, was released.

As interesting as it was watching the teens go through their unplanned pregnancies, Teen Mom was the better show because viewers got to see the ups and downs of parenthood for those memorable Teen Mom castmates at a young age. Those that starred in the first season of Teen Mom became overnight celebrities and are still a part of the Teen Mom fandom.

Total Bellas Were The Stars Of Total Divas

In 2013, E! and the WWE teamed up for a reality show on the women's division of WWE, Total Divas. The main stars were twin sisters Nikki and Bri Bella, Naomi, and Natalya. The show was fascinating and shined a new light on the Divas of the WWE, earning even more fans.

And while the show lasted for nine seasons, towards the end fans were more interested in the Divas that they loved — the Bella twins. Due to their high-profile relationships, E! created a spinoff that focused on the Bellas, Total BellasThe series lasted for 6 seasons and was entertaining as it followed their lives as twins, new mothers, and entrepreneurs.

People Wanted Honey Boo Boo Over Toddlers & Tiaras

TLC's Toddlers & Tiaras was about young girls and their families who were in the pageant circuit. The life of pageants was dissected and proved an interesting show to watch. One of the contestants, however, stole the entire series, Alana Thompson (aka Honey Boo Boo).

Alana and her family were given a spinoff on their life in rural Georgia called Here Comes Honey Boo Boo. Alana continued doing pageants but it got to a point where the show's main focus was Alana's entertaining family dynamic. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo was one of TLC's best shows and lasted for four seasons and was more entertaining and eye-opening than Toddlers & Tiaras.

LA Ink Was Cooler Than Miami Ink

Miami Ink was on for six seasons and centered on Love Hate Tattoo shop in Miami. The reality show showcased different people who came in for tattoos along with those that worked in the shop. One of the tattoo artists was Kat Von D. Due to her unique look and amazing talent, she became the star of the show. After season 4, she left Miami and headed to Los Angeles where a spinoff, LA Ink, was created.

With Kat being the one fans wanted, LA Ink was the better show as viewers saw her open her own tattoo shop. Each episode showed what tattoo the customer wanted and the unique story behind it. All the while, viewers got a more in-depth look at Kat's personal life.

Below Deck Med. Has A More Entertaining Captain Than Below Deck

Below Deck showed what life was like at sea. Based on expensive yachts, viewers got an inside look at those who worked on the yachts. Everything from their job to their personal lives with each other was shown. And while Below Deck shines in the Caribbean, Below Deck Med. was a spinoff based in the Mediterranean. Both shows follow the same premise but the dramatics and entertainment that comes from Captain Sandy and her crew in the Med. make it a superior spinoff.
