Sadly, the coronavirus has united the world, as everyone across the globe is dealing with this in some way, whether they’re directly or indirectly affected by it. Also, unfortunately, the pandemic has place a big mirror on the world and many are showing their uglier sides. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich, poor, or something in-between, people’s true characters are showing in the worst and best ways.

Amongst all the self-interest, shallowness, and mania, there are really good people out there showing that goodwill towards others isn’t completely dead. These people have shown extreme kindness, leadership, and endurance in a world full of chaos.

Most of these people are medical professionals, but a few have been reality TV stars. Here are a few ways these famous reality TV faces have helped during this global crisis.

Making or Donating Medical Supplies

Former Project Runway contestant and winner-turned-mentor Christian Siriano began making surgical face masks and protective gear for hospitals and people in need. Swimwear Company Karla Colletto and Los Angeles Apparel have also started to do the same. Siriano hopes to produce a few thousand a week with his 10 seamstresses. These masks are not medical grade but the companies are ensuring that the masks meet F.D.A standards and are washable and reusable.

Former Real Housewives of New York City star and Skinnygirl franchise owner Bethenny Frankel has also got involved in bringing much-needed supplies to hospitals and medical professionals. She is manufacturing and donating hundreds of thousands of supplies that include surgical masks to health care workers and others at risk of contracting COVID-19. According to Fox News, Frankel has contacted hospitals, clinics, FEMA, and more medical professionals around the United States - check out his Instagram post below:

Making Donations & Volenteering

Quite a few major celebrities have been making big donations or began raising money for causes that need it during this trying time. Keeping Up with The Kardashians regular and mega-superstar Kanye West donated to the Chicago non-profit We Women Empowered, a South Side organization that helps deliver three meals a day to residents. His donation will help expand the meals offered and reach more neighborhoods; He also donated to Dream Center in Los Angeles, another non-profit that provides meals for about 7,000 people a day.

RuPaul’s Drag Race winner and contestant Bianca Del Rio and Courtney Act volunteered at Los Angeles’ Project Angel Food, a company that prepares and delivers healthy meals to feed people impacted by serious illnesses - check out the post below:

Providing Education & Entertainment

Many reality show stars and celebrities have been using coronavirus’s social distancing to create web-based free classes. Yes, there has been some self-promoting going on, but overall, most have used these courses to just help entertain and educate people while they’re home for an extended period.

Former Fixer Upper co-host Joanna Gaines uses Instagram TV to post short recipe tutorial videos, getting her family and kids involved. Queer Eye chef Antoni Porowski has taken a similar approach as Gaines by doing Instagram TV cooking lessons, check out the post below:

Many musically inclined celebrities and reality stars have used the platform to offer free concerts or just showing off their great vocal skills, like Celebrity Big Brother winner Tamar Braxton. She uses social media to show off that vocal talent and personality that helped her win the season, check out her post below:

So You Think You Can Dance former contestants Stephen “tWitch” Boss and Allison Holker have been posting Tik Tok dance instructional videos. Former So You Think You Can Dance judge and ballerina Misty Copeland joins Danica McKellar, Scott Kelly, B.J Novak, Tiffani Thiessen, and Brady Smith in collaboration with Parents and Penguin Kids to do daily story time. Each day, around 3:00 PM EST, a different celebrity or group of celebrities will read picture books aloud for families and children to watch live, check out his IGTV below:

These are just a few ways that reality stars have been helping keep people sane and support the global fight against Covid-19. It’s nice to see stories of people being reasonable and not just petty feuds at a time of global panic.
