As a woman who struggled with infertility problems, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star, Teddi Mellencamp, is shocked that she conceived her third baby naturally. The housewife revealed that she and her husband, Edwin Arroyave had to jump through a lot of hoops in order to have their first two children, 7-year-old daughter Slate and 5-year-old son Cruz.

Daughter of 80's rock legend, John Cougar Mellencamp, joined the cast of The Real Housewife of Beverly Hills during its 8th season. The reality TV star and health and wellness coach has been very open with her social media followers about how she would love to grow her family and add another child one day. She knew that it would be hard to have another child naturally, as she has had many miscarriages before their son, Cruz. The star also touched on her journey through IVF, which took a toll on her body and was a very difficult process.

During Tuesday's episode of her podcast, Teddi Tea Pod, the 38-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star revealed that her current pregnancy wasn’t exactly planned. She explained that she and her husband had a difficult time while trying to conceive both of their children. In the emotionally vulnerable episode, Teddi talks candidly about her experience of undergoing intrauterine insemination to get pregnant withher daughter Slate. While it worked on the first try, it was after doing many failed rounds of in-vitro fertilization and a heartbreaking miscarriage. This pregnancy, however, was totally different as it "happened naturally." Teddi revealed that the pregnancy came as a big surprise, saying, "I had no idea. I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was nine weeks pregnant." After the podcast, she wrote on Instagram a post about infertility, see below:

She revealed that she had to be on bed rest during both of her previous pregnancies. The Bravo star told audiences that she and her husband "weren't trying" for a baby, and says how she knows the pain first hand of experiencing infertility challenges, a topic she describes as "close to her heart." Teddi talked about how confronting these issues has connected her with women going through the same struggles. She said, "Once I started opening up and telling people I [struggled], [I heard], 'Me too, me too.'" She continued, "We don’t talk about things until somebody else is going through them." She wanted women who have struggled with conceiving that "it's so important to know you're not alone." 

As she's currently 19-weeks-along in her pregnancy - nearly halfway through. She revealed to her Instagram followers that her new baby will be a girl and the family couldn't be any more excited about it.
