The women on the Real Housewives franchises have strong personalities, which sometimes causes friction with the other ladies, but some of them have managed to stay nice throughout their time on the show. While the housewives love being on camera, sometimes the stress of being filmed causes the women to lash out more than they would under normal circumstances. The Real Housewives of New Jersey star Melissa Gorga admitted that sometimes being on the show makes her more emotional than usual, especially when she’s "hangry."
Some of the Real Housewives are not known for being nice, but are still fan favorites. Dorinda Medley from The Real Housewives of New York is known for her sharp tongue and combative nature. In fact, in her later seasons, Dorinda was spiraling so out of control that producers asked her to take a break from the show.
Following her departure after RHONY season 12, the franchise had the lowest ratings for season 13, and fans were rallying for Dorinda to come back to stir up some drama. Still, fans also remember the housewives that made their mark for being kind and refusing to hit below the belt.
Tinsley Mortimer
Tinsley Mortimer was the epitome of a New York City socialite and was the perfect cast for RHONY. Despite having been arrested for trespassing her ex-boyfriend’s house, Tinsley always portrayed herself as the prim and proper southern belle, which rubbed Dorinda the wrong way. Dorinda felt that Tinsley wasn’t always open and honest about her relationship with her ex-fiancé Scott Kluth and often made jabs at her. Tinsley was confused as to why Dorinda kept being mean to her, as she hadn't done anything to warrant the negativity. Even when Dorinda made a rude comment about Tinsley using a turkey baster to conceive, she refused to stoop to Dorinda’s level, simply calling her joke "vile."
Sonja Morgan
RHONY fans may see Sonja Morgan as a “hot mess,” but they all agree that she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Throughout her time on the show, Sonja has been mistreated by Bethenny Frankel, Luann de Lesseps, and Ramona Singer. Sonja’s reaction was to either cry or sweep it under the rug, but she never retaliated in a mean or hurtful way. In fact, even her own castmates told her to stick up for herself more often. In RHONY season 13, fellow housewife Leah McSweeney took Sonja to her boxing gym in order to build up her confidence. The trainer let Sonja use him as a literal punching bag while she vented out her frustrations at the other housewives. Although RHONY is on a hiatus, fans are begging for Sonja to return to the show.
Stephanie Hollman
The Real Housewives of Dallas star Stephanie Hollman is another fan favorite due to her kind nature, who was also fun to watch. Viewers loved watching her silly antics with fellow housewife and her real-life friend, Brandi Redmond. Stephanie’s tagline for RHOD was that she lives in a mansion on a golf course. However, she grew up in a humble family and has admitted that she doesn’t deserve all that she has now. Stephanie warmed the hearts of RHOD fans when she started a charity to help schools in need of new locker rooms. In season 5, viewers saw Stephanie grow from being a stay-at-home mom to a businesswoman running her own foundation. Unfortunately, RHOD wasn’t renewed for another season, but Stephanie is still keeping busy with her charitable foundation while also helping victims of family abuse, proving that she’s one of the nicest Real Housewives.
