The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Meredith Marks revealed that she was offended by the accusation that she tipped off feds about Jen Shah. Jen Shah has clashed with Meredith several times on the show and was recently arrested for fraud. There is much speculation as to whether or not the accusation holds any truth.

Jen has found herself in conflict with many of her co-stars on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Most recently, Jen has been in hot water for homophobic tweets about Meredith’s son Brooks that were liked from her Twitter account. When confronted by Meredith about the situation, Jen denied responsibility, claiming that she does not run her own Twitter account. However, Jen later apologized for not advising her social media team against such behavior. It has been suspected that Meredith called the feds on Jen following a trailer featuring a volatile confrontation between the two in regards to Jen’s arrest. Jen was arrested for her involvement in a telemarketing scam that preyed on the elderly and her trial is set for March 2022.

Meredith recently opened up about how she feels in regards to Jen's claims that she may have somehow been involved in the businesswoman’s arrest. Meredith told Page Six that she was taken aback by the situation and adds that tensions were already high leading up to the dinner in which she was confronted by Jen. After her initial confusion, Meredith says she got kind of angry, and explained that Jen’s investigation was ongoing and that she and the castmates who accused her of being partially responsible for Jen’s arrest were made aware of the investigation before season 2 began filming.

Meredith says she felt “attacked” during the dinner and that the confrontation came from “out of nowhere.” She says that, at the time, she believed the women were ganging up on her about the issue, and “just looking for a problem” with her. She also claims she was confused about Jen’s arrest and the situation surrounding it. Meredith says that she wasn’t expecting Jen to get arrested and believes it would be odd of any individual to expect someone in their life to be arrested. Anyone you know getting arrested on some given day, you’re going to be like, ‘Wait, what?’ It’s surprising,” she said. All shock aside, Meredith adds that controversy is not entirely surprising to her, saying you kind of think with this group, anything is possible.” Meredith did not say whether or not she believes Jen is guilty.

Many rumors have circulated surrounding Meredith and her involvement in Jen’s arrest following trailers for The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, but unlike with Jen’s upcoming trial, an official verdict as to whether or not Meredith has been truthful may never come out. Despite there being no way to know for sure, Meredith makes a relatively sound case for her own innocence.

It seems illogical for Meredith to have called the feds on Jen if the cast was briefed on the situation ahead of time, and the investigation was already underway. In addition to Meredith’s claims that the cast was aware of at least a portion of the details, other castmates including Heather Gay have confirmed that they knew some information about Jen’s case. All fans can do at this time is choose who they believe and stay tuned for any future developments.
