Mary Cosby is blasting Whitney Rose on Twitter over her response to Mary's cult allegations on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Whitney appeared in a recent interview and made claims that Mary is staying silent on the shocking claims against her church. But now that Mary is aware of Whitney's comments, she's blasting her co-star for being a "bobblehead." The feud comes amid speculation into Mary's role as First Lady of The Faith Temple church.
As the only First Lady among the predominantly Mormon cast, Mary has shared her life in the church with pride. In season 1, she introduced fans to her unconventional arranged marriage with her step-grandfather Robert Cosby Sr. The couple wed to follow Mary's grandmother's dying wish to secure the family's role in the church and businesses invested through Robert. Despite all the criticism, Mary returned in season 2 where she's set to get confronted about cult allegations within her church. Former members of her congregation have come forward with claims of Mary running the church much like a cult where she allegedly refers to herself as God and manipulates her churchgoers.
Whitney recently claimed that Mary is seemingly avoiding addressing the cult allegations with her. "Mary won't speak to me so I, unfortunately, don't have the opportunity to talk to her about it," Whitney revealed in a clip shared by The Real Housewives of SLC. But once Mary caught wind of Whitney's claims, she sent out a series of since-deleted tweets blasting her fellow housewife and their failed friendship. "You are such a liar! Whitney Rose,” Mary said in a tweet captured by Page Six. “You know you don’t talk to me! With your Bobble Head!” She went on to note that Whitney needs to, “Humble yourself," because she is "so hungry" to speak out on their broken friendship.
Mary wasn't done. She accused Whitney of being "So fake" and only doing what she can to fuel her involvement in a storyline. “Everything [Rose] does she is told to do," Mary quipped before mocking Whitney's onscreen persona this season. "You need to stop lying on me because your [sic] being the most the season with your pole dancing mentality,” Mary sniped. “you & I will never be friends why would I talk to a fake Whitney.” The anger likely stems from the teaser which showed Whitney as the one who brings up Mary's cult allegations. However, Lisa Barlow is the one seen actually sitting down for a meeting with one of Mary's former church members.
It's clear that Mary isn't taking all of the betrayals well. In a recent Daily Beast exposé, Mary was outed by excommunicated church members who accused her of manipulating her congregation to get free or cheap labor out of them and increased tithes. It's also claimed that she refers to herself as a God-like figure and berates her congregation if they don't tithe a certain amount. She allegedly gets her members to work for her family businesses for little to no pay. In season 2, viewers have seen Mary getting started on renovating her home and starting her own podcast. The shocking allegations against The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star are likely to be a conversation throughout the season and during the reunion. She will have to address the claims onscreen sooner or later. Until then, she's blasting her co-stars every chance she gets.
