Mary Cosby has finally responded to the mystery surrounding her no-show status at the season 2 reunion of The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City. “I did not go to the reunion because I was not about to sit there and be beat up from one side of the story and of the narrative,” was how the reality star answered the question about her decision. Avid housewife fans know that skipping a reunion is a big no-no and oftentimes does not bode well for continuing on as a cast member. Missing the annual event can also result in a severely reduced paycheck.

Over the years, several of the women have chosen to sit out reunions for a variety of reasons. Some have been supported by Bravo brass and others have felt the network's harsh rebuke. In the cases of Kim Richards and Luann de Lesseps, both women were addressing substance abuse issues and the network supported their absences. Both were ultimately invited to return. Lisa Vanderpump and Adrienne Maloof's reunion snubs were not received as positively. Vanderpump chose not to address an incident known to viewers as "puppy gate," and Maloof took a pass amid rumors swirling about her use of a surrogate for her twin boys. Their choices were not appreciated by their bosses and both lost their housewife status; however Vanderpump is still a cast member on Vanderpump Rules.

Mary has been in the news recently for several unflattering reasons, including racist remarks she made to cast mate Jennie (newly embroiled in her own allegations of racism) and accusations about the operations of her church (which is rumored to have closed). According to Heavy.com, Mary's interview with Instagram fan account Brough Chat sheds some light on why she chose to skip the event, “The only thing I have to say about the reunion is [that] I didn’t go because it was one-sided." She also referred to former church member turned whistle blower Cameron Williams, "I was not going to get on the reunion for a four-part reunion and talk about this guy that has passed.”

The Faith Temple Pentecostal Church leader insists that the content of the reunion was bound to be "one-sided." Mary also expressed irritation at her co-stars and their apparent unwillingness to address topics that concerned them with her directly, “filming all season with these women…none of them had the guts to say it to my face, all of these false allegations.” In addition to her frustrations with co-stars, there are reports that Mary didn't want to endure a grilling from Cohen about her racist remarks or be confronted with accusations about her church being a cult. Amid all of the reunion kerfuffle, Mary's parents are set for a tell-all regarding her controversial marriage to her step-grandfather. They claim the union is not as she's described it.

Housewife viewers eagerly await reunion tell-alls because Cohen is adept at addressing unresolved issues. It also gives the women a chance to respond to events with some hindsight. By the time they hit the sofas, they've had the opportunity to watch scenes that didn't include them and see their co-stars' confessionals. This perspective generally results in even more beef among the women, which is the bread and butter of every franchise. Sadly, the audience will be deprived of Mary's antics at this reunion, and all clues lead to her being axed from The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City. Fans are now left to wonder if Jennie will suffer a similar fate.
