Whitney Rose opened up on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City about why she decided to kick out her father Steve Lesh. A recent clip shows Whitney giving an update on her relationship with her dad following his appearance on RHOSLC season 1. Steve was transparent about his addiction issues and moved in with his daughter in hopes of living a healthy life. However, it seems like his living situation changed and Whitney is revealing what brought her to make that tough decision.

Steve's struggles with sobriety were a big part of Whitney's storyline during The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season 1. She and her husband Justin Rose opened up their home to her dad in an attempt to be supportive while he worked on getting his life back in order. Alas, it seems like Steve was hesitant to decide on a sober house to live in. Now, Steve is noticeably absent from RHOSLC season 2, and Whitney is explaining why during a chat with the other housewives.

In a recently surfaced clip of a deleted RHOSLC scene (re-post from @bravohousewivestea included below), Whitney reveals how after quarantining with her dad, she eventually came to the "difficult" realization that he needed to leave. "It got to a point where I wasn't able to hold my healthy boundaries for me and my family so I asked him to leave," Whitney said. After Mary asked how Steve imposed on Whitney's family life, she explained that her father was "taking advantage" of her and Justin. She also accused him of "manipulating situations." During a confessional, Whitney shared how her dad's issues left her worried about his wellbeing. "It always makes me feel like, I don't know, am I one day just going to get a call and I am going to have to live with knowing that, like, my dad…" she stopped before finishing the sentence.

Whitney is one of the more upbeat and positive members of the RHOSLC cast. However, she can't help but reflect on the grim reality when it comes to her relationship with her father. A throwback clip from a year earlier shows Steve and Whitney talking about him moving into a sober house. "I'm going to get my dad back," Whitney had said with excitement. Alas, this new update shows that things didn't necessarily go as planned. In January 2021, Whitney revealed how worried she was over her father not responding to her text messages.

Aside from her rocky relationship with her dad, Whitney appears to have a healthy marriage. She and Justin are fun, playful, and open about their love life. The couple faced controversy when they first started dating due to them both being married and Justin being Whitney's boss at the time. In fact, their marriage even excommunicated Whitney from the Morman Church. However, they are still going strong after 10 years and have welcomed two children together. Whitney is applauded for her openness and honesty on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Hopefully, her father will make a return in the near future after making a change for the better.
