Whitney and Justin Rose revealed on The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City that Whitney's celebrity status and their risqué scenes caused him to lose his job. Whitney is known as a pot-stirrer on RHOSLC, while Justin is her mild-mannered partner in life. Whitney and Justin bring some major "zaddy" energy with almost twenty years between them. This year Whitney officially did the grueling paperwork to leave the Mormon church, saying, "more of a free spirit, without the Holy Spirit." However, that doesn't mean their conservative circles are celebrating her new lifestyle.

Among Justin and Whitney's haters are Justin's former employers. Jen Shah's outbursts and legal trouble on RHOSLC get a bad rap, but apparently, Justin's been under major scrutiny as well. Justin worked as the chief sales officer and marketing manager for LifeVantage for seven years. Whitney argued that Justin "led the entire sales force. You were everyone's everything there." Sadly, Justin knew there was chatter about his possible dismissal, but even the conversation about his firing was a huge shock to him. Justin said his employer argued that "with Whitney being a public figure," they "just didn't see how we were going to be able to make this work." Whitney knew she had nothing to feel guilty about, but the toll on their household income was a significant blow. Unfortunately, Whitney's success and net worth from RHOSLC don't match Justin's.

Justin's Firing Reinforces RHOSLC's Conservative Roots

RHOSLC stands out from other Housewives franchises for its focus of Christian fundamentalism. Most housewives don't have a backstory of exiting the Mormon church, but Justin and Whitney do. The conservative social norms of Utah set a very different stage, but arguably The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is the next most conservative franchise socially. The Real Housewives of Dallas and The Real Housewives of Orange County might have some conservative believers, but they are way more likely to get naked or wave dildos in the air on camera. Whitney said, "This has everything to do with them shaming me for what kind of woman I am... it feels like that final straw was when we did the love is art. Yeah, that could be cringy, but I'm freaking proud of that." Whitney referred to a body painting session with Justin, and her chemistry with Justin is one storyline Whitney definitely doesn't fake on RHOSLC.

Given Whitney was on all fours and some light spanking, the steamy session was lightweight sexuality on display in the Bravo world. She said it took her back to being a young adult, where her Mormon community pressured her to be submissive to men. In the eyes of Justin's company, it was his job to keep his wife in line and not embarrass his professional standing, but Whitney's been quick to show off her body and celebrate her sexuality. However, she should not be demonized for this, nor should Justin.

There shouldn't be any shame around being in a fulfilling marriage. What is a shame is that Justin's company is punishing him for his wife's freedom in her values and resulting success. Amid Whitney's feud with her cousin Heather Gay, she'll be leaning on Justin more than ever. Hopefully, the financial stress of losing half their income doesn't damage their reputation.
