According to Allabouttrh, Mary has been caught on audiotape complaining about how "poor" and her parishioners were. It appears the head of the church was not thrilled with the amount of money her parishioners scrounged together for her birthday. Mary was caught saying, "You're not in church, you think I'm stupid? Coming in here draining me? I ain't preaching over y'all's sin. I'm doing everything else, ya'll ain't helping. Halfway pay your tides. I got 14 birthday cards. Your old stingy selves. You old poor people. I don't want no poor people around me. You're poor as hell. And if you ain't poor, you stingy cause you still poor! God said you were poor. Said your reaping, where's that scripture Norman?"
Mary has been accused of bleeding her congregation dry once before. She apparently disappeared from her church for three years only to come back, looking completely different. Mary has not done herself any favors since she has already come across as a bit out of touch and cold.
