For viewers who thought Jen Shah was just putting on an act for the show, new reports have proven otherwise. In recently leaked audio from backstage at The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion, Jen is allegedly heard berating fashion designer Koa Johnson and her Shah Squad. The audio comes after Jen faced criticism from show fans over her lack of accountability for her poor treatment toward the cast and crew. However, it appears Jen's antics continue when the cameras aren't rolling.
Jen was successful at making herself out to be the villain on the premiere season of RHOSLC. While the other housewives focused more on the drama in their own homes rather than with each other, Jen found ways to get into verbal spats with every member of the cast. Mary Cosby was her first target after Mary said she smelled like a hospital. Then Meredith Marks became the enemy for being friendly towards Mary. After that, Lisa Barlow, Heather Gay, and Whitney Rose were somehow all yelled at by Jen over minuscule and often meaningless reasons. By the reunion, Jen became upset while defending herself against claims of being aggressive. She said she found it offensive as a woman of color.
Many viewers were not buying Jen's excuses and even resorted to calling out her husband Coach Shah for seemingly coddling his wife and treating her like a child. But, this time around there isn't much to excuse when leaked audio gets involved and a fashion designer speaks out. Somehow and someway, the Instagram page RealityVonTease2 shared leaked audio where Jen can be heard berating members of her staff and Koa Johnson, the designer of her reunion show dress that almost didn't make it on time. In the two 10 minutes' worth of vicious ranting, Jen is heard shouting at her staff, one of which seemingly lives with her. "Shut the f**k up,” she shouts at someone before telling another, “get your s**t b***h I don’t care…you have a f***ing place to lay your f***ing head because you’re in my house. You don’t be disrespectful.” The second audio file she can be heard belittling the designer Koa. “How many f***ing hands do you need," she yells at the designer.
"You got four f***ing [people]….how many more people do you need to do one f***ng thing? One thing!” The Bravo star goes on to threaten him saying, “I’m gonna beat the s**t outta you in like two seconds.” Since the audio surfaced, Koa has taken to social media to confirm the encounter and call out Jen in a lengthy statement "I've been protecting this woman for way too long," he said before sharing details of his history with her. He went on to accuse her of being verbally abusive as well as not paying him. Koa also called out MakeUpByMurillo for allegedly taking credit for his work.
Following the leaked audio, fans of the show have been calling for Jen's firing or ownership of the situation. While she often found ways to defend her actions on the show, her behavior behind the scenes begs other questions. With the housewives being accused of excusing bad behavior from the show's stars viewers are wondering if that will change in the future. One thing is for sure, Jen is clearly worthy of her bad girl persona on the show.
