With the recent premiere of season 3, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is off to a phenomenal start. While some cities in the franchise have downcast seasons or forced storylines, RHOSLC doesn’t seem to be on that path. Between arrests, differences in religions, and breakups in friendships, RHOSLC has had some amazing storylines in three short seasons.

Whitney's Blended Marriage

Whitney is the youngest Salt Lake City Housewife, and one of her storylines in season 1 has to do with her family structure. She wasn't the only Housewife with a non-traditional union, and she is nothing but proud of her family's journey.

Whitney and her husband (and former boss) were married to other people when they first met. They struck up an affair, Whitney became pregnant, and the two lovebirds decided to divorce and marry each other. They now have two kids together, and at age 36, Whitney is now a step-grandmother through marriage. Her juicy backstory to her relationship was a heavy storyline, but her vow renewal dress was one of the more iconic looks from season 1 of RHOSLC.

Meredith And Seth's Broken Marriage

Meredith Marks is a wall of perfection, so it seems. But, in the second half of the first season of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, viewers learned that Marks and her longtime husband Seth were going through a separation.

The facade of Meredith crumbled, and the other women started questioning whether all was really roses and sunshine in the world of polished and refined Meredith Marks. With everyone questioning her, fans made memes about her "not engaging" to follow the trending storyline. Watching the Marks' navigate a crossroads in their union became Meredith's primary storyline in season 1.

Heather Gay's Personal Battle With The Mormon Church

Heather Gay is such a great character on the show and is becoming a fast favorite for many reasons. She was married to Mormon royalty for over a decade, but when her marriage came to a screeching halt, the mother to three daughters had to reinvent herself. She took a sharp left from her former persona and made no apologies for living the single woman's life.

Gay is a strong, beautiful woman and owner of an extremely successful business. Although she's a role model, Gay had many storylines where she battled with her new reality and what she used to be or have. Those inner conflicts turned into telling storylines.

Lisa Barlow's "Working" Relationship

Lisa talking to her husband on RHOSLC

Lisa Barlow is a busy woman, wife, and mother, and at one point, she compared herself to the great entrepreneur Warren Buffett. She constantly referred to herself as The Queen of Sundance and discussed her brands and businesses' popularity. Her children seemed to become second to all working affairs, which concerned Lisa's husband, who craved a slower pace and more face time with his busy wife.

Watching Lisa try and balance it all was a great storyline. She not only proved that women can do it all, but the dramatic balance between her and her husband was great TV.

Jen's Battle With Depression

Jen Shah talking to Coach Shah on RHOSLC

Jen Shah is bold and boisterous, and everything she did in season 1 was full of color, emotion, and fabulousness. Jen seemed to have it all, but that didn't mean there weren't some dark skeletons lingering in her designer walk-in closet.

Her husband's football travel schedule didn't help matters, nor did his belief that all Jen needed was more prayer and faith. Her mental health woes nearly led to the demise of her marriage, but thankfully Jen was able to get the help that she needed and hop on the road to recovery. Things changed a lot for Jen as time went on, and Jen's popularity took a dive in season 2 due to some heavy lawsuits that came her way.

Whitney's Relationship With Her Father Was Troubling

Whitney is sweet and lovable, and her kindness and generosity extended to all around her, including her father. The first season of the Salt Lake City installment showcases Whitney's support for her father, who was trying to recover from addiction and get his life back on track.

Her battle between indulgence and tough love tugged at viewers' heartstrings because everyone saw that all Whitney wanted was her dad to have a healthy life. In season 2, fans found out that Whitney lost contact with her dad after he fell off his sobriety plan. And while there were some RHOSLC theories regarding Whitney's family, it was a dark yet honest showcase of the hardships of family.

Jen's Beef With Mary

Every installment of The Real Housewives has at least one tedious relationship between women. The Salt Lake portion of the franchise had given viewers beef between Jen Shah and Mary Cosby. The women did not like one another, and they made no effort to hide their resentment.

Mary claimed that Jen smelled like a hospital, a scent offensive to Mary. Jen lost her mind over the observation and hit back, commenting on Mary's marriage. It appeared that the fight between Mary and Jen was all too much because Mary is not returning to The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.

Mary's Rise To Queen Of The Church

Mary Cosby on The Real Housewives Of Salt Lake City RHOSLC

Mary Cosby is an outspoken woman of true conviction who serves as the leader of her congregation. But how did Mary rise to become the headmistress of her followers?

Mary's grandmother, Rosemary Redmon Cosby, was the founder of Faith Temple Pentecostal Church in Salt Lake City. When Rosemary passed, Mary was set in her place as the church leader and inheritor of the family businesses. This entire storyline was juicy because, for someone so young with a small congregation, her massive wealth didn't exactly add up. Because of Mary's judgments of the other women, Mary was quite unpopular for two seasons on RHOSLC.

When Was Meredith’s Dad’s Funeral?

In season 2 of RHOSLC, Meredith had a time with the other Housewives for various reasons. The one dramatic storyline that put her against friends was the death of her father. She told a few of the women that she was at her father’s funeral, which was why she couldn’t be there for cast events. But when the women all talked about Meredith’s absence, they realized she told most of them different dates for her father’s wake.

Many felt that Meredith was trying to cover something up since it didn’t make sense to lie about something so serious. When the women questioned Meredith, Hell ensued, and she left most gatherings because of it. However, the lingering question is still something that fans and Housewives are asking.

The Introduction Of Brooks & His Drama With Jen

Fans loved Brooks Marks' storyline in seasons 1 and 2. As Meredith's son, Brooks decided to take some take time off of his college studies so he could film alongside his mom.

Meredith was especially thrilled to have him home so that he could help her with her makeup. He also dove headfirst into the fashion world during season 1 of RHOSLC. While fans loved his energy in season, his storyline in season 2 was more dramatic. After Jen Shah said some unsavory things about him on Twitter, he was in between his mother and another Housewife in a massive blowout. Between his one-liners and the drama he had with Jen, fans loved memes based on RHOSLC's Brooks Marks.

Meredith Vs. Lisa

In season 1, Meredith and Lisa bragged about how close they were. The two even looked alike, making them appear more like sisters than friends.

By the time season 3 rolled around, Meredith and Lisa’s friendship was non-existent. Between Lisa’s rant about Meredith sleeping with “half of New York” and Meredith making accusations about Lisa having an affair, this dramatic friendship is an ongoing saga that’s one of the best because no one saw it coming.

Mary Married Her Step-Grandfather

Mary Cosby is a married mother of a teenage son. She sits on a throne, overlooking her many business ventures, and a flock of believers. All of this was made possible because of her marriage. It was Mary's marriage that became the greatest and most eyebrow-raising storyline of the entire season.

Mary married her step-grandfather at the request of her late grandmother, which was a fascinating storyline in and of itself. In season 2, Mary's husband stopped making appearances after the backlash the two got in season 1, and Mary's behavior quickly made her unlikable on RHOSLC.

Jen’s Arrest

RHOSLC's Jen Shah on the phone

Season 2 was full of wild storylines, but none were bigger or more dramatic than when Jen was spontaneously arrested while the women were filming.

While the women were in a sprinter van on their way for a mini getaway, Jen received an emergency phone call and she left. Jen's had some epic meltdowns, but none were greater than the ones shown after what happened. Moments later, their van was surrounded by police enforcement looking for Jen. The other Housewives were bewildered and had no idea what was happening. In reality, it was the start of an ongoing fraud case that had Jen as the ringleader.
