The Real Housewives of Potomac season 7 taglines came a little later than usual this time around, but fans were excited to finally hear them. The season went three episodes without an opening sequence. Now, viewers are up to their usual guessing games, wondering what the taglines will refer to as the season goes on.
Taglines, which some Real Housewives fans find irritating, have grown to become something of a preview of what to expect in any given season of The Real Housewives. Fans are constantly speculating about what each tagline means, and some offer more insight and depth than others. For a few weeks, the internet was beginning to think they would miss out on taglines for RHOP season 7. Luckily, they've finally arrived.
7. "I'm a Nigerian queen with no time for mean" – Wendy Osefo
Wendy Osefo's tagline is catchy enough, but it could easily be applied to any of RHOP's seasons. The reference to her heritage is also clever. However, her previous taglines have been more memorable and a little less generic than this one.
6. "Just like a three wick, I burn slow and never waver" – Karen Huger
Karen Huger, a RHOP fan favorite, gets points for the reference to candles since she has a candle brand. But in a social media post revealing the taglines, Robyn Dixon wasted no time making fun of Karen's tagline, saying, “3 wick candles actually burn really fast.” Someone else commented on the post to confirm Karen's candle did burn quite fast, so it only makes sense to rank her tagline low.
5. "You may think you know my story, but there's always a plot twist" – Ashley Darby
There's plenty of mystery in this tagline, particularly given Ashley Darby's apparent storyline on RHOP season 7. Her split from Michael Darby is center stage, with the women already asking her multiple questions about her split. This tagline further suggests an interesting season from Ashley, who was reluctant to share her divorce, as she enters a new phase in her life.
4. "I'm pretty, petty, and always sitting on ready" – Gizelle Bryant
Gizelle Bryant's tagline, though thematically pretty generic, oozes her signature attitude. Known for her three-season “word on the street” tagline, which was finally broken last season, fans are thrilled Gizelle has given another tagline diverting from her usual formula. The catchiness and rhythm of this tagline get points too.
3. "I may not remember everything, but you'll never forget me" – Mia Thornton
Mia Thornton's tagline is a clever callback to a RHOP season 6 moment, where she was called out for her incorrect recollection of comments made by Gizelle about Wendy. In her tagline, she's taken this not-so-proud moment and switched it in her favor. Fans love a housewife who can laugh and make fun of herself.
2. "When it comes to the truth, I always arrive on time" – Robyn Dixon
Like Mia's, Robyn Dixon's tagline is another example of taking something not-so-great and turning it into a memorable tagline. Robyn, who fans think was aggressive with Wendy, is known for being late to many events throughout RHOP. However, with this tagline, she assures viewers that when the truth is concerned, there's no issue about her being late.
1. "My vocals are clean, but my reads are for filth" – Candiace Dillard-Bassett
This tagline by Candiace Dillard-Bassett includes everything great about a Real Housewives tagline. There's a reference to Candiace and something she's known for, her singing, a tease for what may come this season, and there's a clever "clean" and "filth" play on words. Plus, it's not too long, either.
The Real Housewives of Potomac season 7 has delivered with its late arrival taglines. Each of their taglines is, at the very least, a reflection of their character and what they bring to the show. Some, however, make more sense than others.
The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
