After leaving The Real Housewives of Potomac, alum Monique Samuels is expressing her support for NeNe Leakes' lawsuit against Bravo. Since her season 5 departure, Monique took some time off before joining former Real Housewives producer Carlos King's new franchise Love & Marriage: DC. Monique and Chris Samuels are set to reveal new sides to their relationship dynamic while appearing alongside other married couples in the country's capital. Now that Monique is on a new network, she can speak freely about her experience with Bravo and why she seemingly agrees with NeNe's quest for justice.

Monique exited RHOP after an explosive Season 5 that placed her at the center of the drama. She and Candiace Dillard engaged in one of the most shocking hair-pulling fights across all franchises. The physical altercation put a split in the cast, with only Karen Huger and Ashley Darby choosing to remain friends with Monique. By the time the reunion rolled around, Monique arrived with a binder of receipts and unleashed one of the most scathing reads in Housewives' history. As Monique promotes her return to reality television, she's sharing her thoughts on NeNe's claims against Bravo.

While most of the Housewives community remains mum on NeNe's lawsuit, Monique is speaking out in defense of The Real Housewives of Atlanta OG. “As far as NeNe with the network, she absolutely has a point," Monique said while on Instagram Live, as captured by Urban Belle. The RHOP alum believes the franchises that follow women of color, "you only see them from one side." she said. "If you look at the white housewives show, you’ll see each one as a wife, as a business owner, an entrepreneur," Monique explained. "You’ll see them as a Philanthropist, you’ll see all of those things in each and everyone," she added. But when it comes to the Black housewives, "it’s almost like the black housewives can’t be a full person," Monique quipped.

Monique Samuels (Season 4 Of RHOP) confessional for Bravo

After three seasons of working with the network, Monique believes her portrayal was stifled on Bravo because of her race. However, when looking back at RHOP's history, the show started with OGs Katie Rost and Monique's arch-enemy Charrisse Jackson-Jordan who were both heavily involved in philanthropy. Elsewhere, RHOP follows Karen's expansion of her La Dame brand as well as Candiace's music career, and Robyn Dixon's thriving hat company. Monique also shared a rumor she heard claiming that NeNe is actually the one who came up with the concept of a reunion. "Does she get any credit for that?" Monique asked.

Monique believes NeNe deserves more credit for "putting housewives on the map." The Real Housewives of Potomac alum has been more vocal about her angst with the franchise since leaving. On her new show, Monique teases how fans will get a chance to know the "real" her. The teaser trailer shows Monique and Chris treading on rocky terrain in their marriage as they prepare to celebrate their 10-year anniversary. As a former Housewives producer, Carlos King is fully aware of what it takes to make a juicy show that keeps the viewers coming back. Maybe NeNe will be the next housewife to join Carlos over on OWN Network.
