The Real Housewives of Potomac's Grand Dame Karen Huger is coming to the defense of Wendy Osefo and the cheating rumors surrounding her marriage. Karen recently addressed the talk around town and cleared up speculation plaguing Wendy's marriage to Eddie Osefo. The season six trailer teased impending drama between her and Gizelle Bryant after her sorority sister spread the gossip among the group. The fallout between Wendy and Gizelle comes after the two started out as friends.
During Wendy's debut season, she and Eddie opened up about their Romeo & Juliet romance that included a feud between their Nigerian families. The family rift is so bad that Eddie's mother skipped out attending their wedding and has yet to meet her three grandchildren. Despite the scarred family history, Wendy and Eddie remain a strong powerhouse couple with her work as a professor and political news commentator and Eddie's work as an attorney. Aside from her small spat with Karen in season five, Wendy and her four degrees got through her first season unscathed. But with her returning as a veteran and no longer a newbie, Wendy has been tossed into the lion's den with feuds igniting left and right.
As season six continues, viewers are anticipating a huge blowout between Wendy and Gizelle over scathing rumors about Eddie. Ahead of the fight airing, Karen was asked about the cheating allegations surrounding Eddie and Wendy's marriage. "Rumors are always swirling around in this group and I just refuse to be one to [entertain it]," Karen told E! News. "I don't support it and I go directly to the source. I talked to Wendy, she says it's not true. That's all I need to know." Karen also subliminally shaded anyone who rather spread unverified information about a friend rather than ask them about it first.
She continued. "I'm not going to bring it up to the group for drama or extra punch," Karen added. "I am an extra punch all by myself. So I just think it's a little cruel and unnecessary." The comment appeared to be a jab at her longtime frenemy Gizelle who is known to spread gossip among the group. With Karen and Gizelle always being at odds, it's clear that Karen has teamed up with Wendy in her new feud with Gizelle. According to Karen, "Wendy handles her own and I certainly support she and Eddie as a couple." So it's clear where the Grand Dame's loyalty lies.
When it comes to her quarrel with Gizelle, Karen isn't letting her guard down with one-half of the "green-eyed bandits" because of how "slow to change" Gizelle is. "I'm always hopeful that she will get on the bandwagon because all of the ladies, we are having a great time and I am friends with everyone," Karen noted. This season Karen has introduced newcomer Mia Thornton who has already sparked off spats with Wendy, Gizelle and Robyn Dixon. But only time will tell if Karen and Gizelle can ever go back to being the good friends they once were on The Real Housewives of Potomac.
