Just off the heels of announcing her second pregnancy, Ashley Darby from The Real Housewives of Potomac is also opening up about her unconventional marriage to Michael Darby. Fans watched the most recent episode that showed more questionable behavior from her husband. Now, Darby is speaking on her relationship and comparing it to Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's infamous 'entanglement' scandal.
Prior to revealing the good news on social media about her growing family, Ashley recently opened up about contemplating suicide. The new mother was in a depressed state over "a poll on a Bravo fan-page" that did not sit well with her. The poll came after her husband was accused by a former Bravo cameraman of having “grabbed and groped” his butt while filming the past season. He was cleared of felony assault with a misdemeanor for improper sexual contact due to insufficient evidence. The Australian real estate mogul continues to deny the claims that shocked the entire RHOP cast.
However, despite all the drama surrounding their marriage on-screen, Ashley recently discussed her "unconventional" relationship and spoke on how "great" Michael is. “I related to that a little more than I’d liked to – I was like, ‘Man Jada, I’m with you girl, I get it,’” she revealed to Entertainment Tonight. She was referencing actors Will and Jada Pinkett Smith's now infamous 'entanglement' scandal with singer August Alsina. Back in July, Alsina revealed his past romantic relationship with Jada that he alleges Will approved. This is something Ashley Darby finds a connection to as a public figure. “Marriage is just so hard and it’s really hard being a public figure and having difficulties and it’s even more difficult when you decide to talk about them and say some things that aren’t necessarily fitting the mold of what people think a marriage is or should be.”

But, when it comes to her family, Ashley is sticking by her man. Despite his questionable behavior on the show, she went on to praise Michael for the role he plays in their family. “I love my husband, he’s a great father, he’s a great husband and my relationship is going to withstand – it’s strong enough to withstand a lot,” she added. “I’m sure there will be some very strong reactions to what they see what happens but ultimately the only person who really lays next to Michael at night and has to have these discussions is me.” This is reassuring to fans who have been wondering about the state of her marriage after the latest episode revealed more scandalous allegations against her husband.
Ashley most recently took to Instagram to announce her pregnancy with baby number two. The reality star shared a video message that ended with a photo of her son Dean standing in front of Michael and a clearly pregnant Ashley. “There's no hiding this big belly anymore," she captioned the post. "We are elated to share our news with you! To say we are thankful is an absolute understatement.” It appears the strip club and groping allegations didn't stop Ashley and Michael from growing their family. Fans will still get to see how their marriage is tested on the upcoming episodes.
