It seems Steve Lodge is ready to throw his hat into the ring. The Real Housewives of Orange County fans had no idea he has political aspirations, but Vicki Gulvanson's fiance appears to be ready to compete for the title of California governor.

Vicki and Steve began dating in 2016 shortly after meeting at a charity event and being introduced by friends. The couple got engaged three years later in April 2019. The two were supposed to tie the knot in January of 2020, but their nuptials were postponed for obvious reasons. Since then, Vicki has bought her dream retirement home in Mexico and sold her Coto home in Orange County. Since then, the two have not been in a rush to say ‘I do’ and are living moment by moment.

Gavin Newsom is facing a recall election due to his poor handling of the COVID-19 pandemic within his state. While California was one of the first to shut down entirely, it seems his constituents are not happy with how he has handled the issue in the last few months, feeling that he sold them out instead of keeping them safe. Enter Steve, a former police officer, father, and the better half of Vicki Gunvalson, who most know from being the OG on The Real Housewives of Orange County. Steve announced his candidacy in an Instagram video.

Viewers have joked that if her future husband were to win, Vicki’s first order of business as the first lady of California will be to get herself back on The Real Housewives of Orange County. There is no denying that Steve is very well-spoken as he shared his plans for the state, telling listeners, “I was born and raised in California and spent my adult life here; it was a time when people still called California the Golden State.” In his IG bio, Steve has posted that he is a conservative, so many assume he would be running on the Republican ticket.

Back in April, Vicki spoke out about how she was over the pandemic guidelines and wanted beauty salons back open so she could get her hair and nails done. While thousands were dying, the reality TV star wanted her beauty regime to remain intact. While people were out in the streets protesting, the OG of the OC wrote on Twitter pleading with Governor Newsom to reopen the economy, even though the first surge was not under control. The tone-deaf post was quickly called out, and many viewers of The Real Housewives of Orange County now wonder if Steve holds the same opinions, especially since he is running for the highest office in the state.
