The Real Housewives of Orange County finished its fifteenth season but one of its leading ladies might be finishing her housewife career as well. Kelly Dodd hinted her time on the reality program might be coming to an end. Social media activity by the star alluded to a potential firing. Controversial behavior both recently and throughout season fifteen fueled rumors that Bravo will most likely be parting ways with the reality star. However, nothing concrete has been announced by either party.

Dodd began appearing on The Real Housewives of Orange County during the series’ eleventh season. Fans originally praised Dodd for her bold, unapologetic attitude but recently, those same attributes are leading to the star’s downfall. The five-season housewife made some controversial comments concerning the current pandemic as well as the racial issues plaguing our country. Dodd apologized for a few of her more outlandish comments but doubled-down on other unflattering behavior. Here are the many reasons that the firing of Kelly Dodd is being speculated.

Dodd replied to an Instagram fan suggesting that her firing may happen. The post was in response to the fan advocating for the housewife. Dodd also made an interesting change to her Instagram bio as well. She wrote that she was a veteran cast member of the Real Housewives of Orange County on January 31. The suspicious change has since been edited. Her Instagram bio now reads, "proud castmember of #RHOC."

Dodd recently found herself in another controversial situation by openly mocking the pandemic while out to eat with friends. The star made a jovial toast to super-spreaders. Fans reprimanded the housewife for both making an ignorant joke and dining at a crowded restaurant. The controversy was the tipping point for Positive Beverage, a beverage company that Dodd was affiliated with. The brand made a statement saying Dodd’s controversial opinions were distracting from their primary objectives and they would no longer be affiliated with her. Dodd seemingly took the firing in stride. “I’m glad I could help put Positive Beverage on the map and wish them well” the star tweeted.

Bravo boss Andy Cohen hinted at a major shake-up on the Real Housewives of Orange County, although he did not specifically say Kelly would be fired. In response to a tweet calling for the show’s cancellation, the Watch What Happens Live host tweeted, “I think you mean reBOOT it.” The tweet insinuates several firings may take place and the sixteenth season of the show might follow some fresh faces. In addition, Dodd insinuated she would not do the show if her costar, Braunwyn Windham-Burke, returned. The star is making ultimatums with what seems like little ground to stand on.

Peculiar Instagram activity, controversial actions, and a hint from Andy Cohen are a handful of the reasons why fans have been suspicious of Dodd’s future on The Real Housewives of Orange County. One company has already parted ways with the outspoken housewife so it would not be surprising if Bravo followed suit. The star is indicating it’s happening so why shouldn’t fans be nosy? Time will tell if viewers can expect to see Dodd on their television screens next season.
