Kelly Dodd is a fan favorite on The Real Housewives of Orange County and we're here to talk about her past and present marriages. Kelly is never scared to tell her castmates exactly what she thinks about them, especially when it comes to defending herself. Fans have praised her time and time again for carrying the show, claiming that she is the most interesting cast member. Kelly is bold, outspoken, and fearless. She even slammed Chrissy Teigen amid the bullying drama, which involved Chrissy sending Courtney Stodden vile messages nearly a decade ago.
Whenever Kelly is involved in a fight, fans are sure to watch, and bets are definitely on Kelly. Besides the antics she gets up to on the show, Kelly has been unlucky in love. She has been married three times and divorced twice. Kelly recently wed Fox news correspondent Rick Leventhal. The reality star has had a bumpy love life, but it now seems like she has finally found her soulmate.
Scott Christopher Silva
This was Kelly’s first marriage and they were together from March 2001 until October 2004. Scott Christopher Silva is a lawyer based in Arizona and it appears that he has continued to practice law following his divorce from Kelly. Scott has also been called the number one attorney in Arizona. Scott and Kelly never had any kids together. He is highly successful as he owns his own law firm. He is a trial attorney who specializes in criminal defense, DUI defense, and personal injury law.
Their marriage did not work out. It was a short-lived union lasting only three years. Kelly rarely acknowledges the relationship in the media, perhaps because it was so long ago. According to Radar Online, Scott claimed that the reason for divorcing Kelly was the fact that their relationship was irretrievably broken. Scott filed for divorce in July 2004, and a few months later, they were divorced. Their case went smoothly in court. Neither party was given spousal support.
Michael Dodd
Her first marriage may have ended relatively smoothly but her second marriage to Michael Dodd definitely didn't. Kelly started dating Michael in 2004 and they got married in 2006. Their relationship was rocky and much of their marital strife was captured on the reality show, The Real Housewives of Orange County. In an episode of the show, Kelly said, “It's been very rocky… one minute things are fine, the next I can't wait to get a divorce. Being married is tough.” Kelly was hesitant to pursue divorce as she worried that her husband would turn their daughter against her.
It was alleged that during their fighting and marital woes, Kelly Dodd was abusive towards Michael. He even filed a restraining order against his then-wife. It was said that Kelly caused Michael trauma and was ordered to stay 100 feet away from him. She was also expected to attend ten Alcoholics Anonymous sessions. Kelly recently got dragged for questioning Braunwyn Windham-Burke's sobriety.
Michael is a successful man and was the CEO of Leapfrog, although he ended up selling his Leapfrog stock in 2016. The couple shares a 14-year-old daughter, Jolie. Michael and Kelly called it quits previously in 2012 but later reconciled. Both tried their best to make their marriage work. However, they could not stop butting heads. Things ended for good in 2017, when they decided to proceed with their divorce. Their divorce was finalized in February 2018.
The couple fought a bitter custody battle over their child Jolie, according to US Weekly. Kelly went on to add that Michael had not seen their daughter in six months, saying, “What kind of father doesn’t want to spend time with his daughter?” However, Kelly has praised her new husband Rick Leventhal for stepping up and taking care of her daughter and treating her as his own. Michael is now dating Laura White, and Kelly moved on to Fox correspondent, Rick Leventhal.
Rick Leventhal
While this is not a past marriage, it only makes sense to wrap things up by looking at Kelly Dodd’s current marriage to journalist Rick. The couple did not date for a long time before they decided to get engaged. Kelly met Rick in the summer of 2019. Kelly and Rick were introduced to one another by The Real Housewives of New York reality star Ramona Singer at a party. The two quickly fell for one another and got engaged in November 2019.
However, due to the pandemic, like so many other couples, they had to downscale their wedding and limit it to a few guests. They had custom-designed masks for their ceremony. Kelly and Rick tied the knot in October 2020, with Kelly’s daughter as the maid of honor. It was intimate and they were surrounded by family and friends. Kelly also got two stepdaughters as Rick has two daughters from a previous relationship.
