Kelly Dodd is pointing fingers at who's to blame for her recent firing from The Real Housewives of Orange County. After initially accusing fellow terminated housewife Braunwyn Windham-Burke, Kelly is now owning up to the part she played in getting removed from the show. She admitted to not only rubbing viewers the wrong way, but she also managed to upset a few network execs with her online antics.

The RHOC cast was turned upside when after producers decided to give three full-time housewives the boot after a rocky season 14. Kelly, Braunwyn, and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas were all given pink slips for unknown reasons. But a number of viewers think Kelly and Braunwyn were removed for all the bad press they brought the show. Between Kelly's controversial comments about the pandemic, seemingly mocking the Black Lives Matter movement and wearing face masks, she had already upset fans before the season even kicked off. While the reason for Braunwyn's firing remains unknown, it could've had something to do with the disturbing revelation Shannon Beador made about her during the reunion. After being accused of offering illegal substances to a minor, it was probably best to break away from the controversial show star.

With it being a few weeks since her firing was announced, Kelly is speaking openly about her forced exit and owning up to the role she played in the outcome. She recently appeared on SiriusXM's Jeff Lewis Live where she revealed how "blindsided" she was to find out she was fired. She actually got the call the same day the news was made public. "I said, 'Well, why? Was it political?' and he said, 'No. Bravo wanted to take a different direction than you,'" Kelly recalled of the career-changing phone call. Her husband Rick Levanthal proved that he's his wife's biggest fan by blasting the execs for firing his wife despite Kelly being the star of the show in his eyes. "There's no one more popular than her," Rick quipped. "Even if people hate her, they love to hate her. They love to watch her. She was the brightest spark on that show."

The Fox News correspondent said he "was very surprised" by the phone call, "because even though she's so controversial, she's still great television." Kelly was known for being the firecracker among the Orange County crew. While she didn't bring her social media antics onto the show, she managed to upset so many people online that the criticism of her was endless. Kelly shouted out her "die-hard fans" who are sticking by her side. But she called out the "woke broke" critics who she feels are the "loud ones" who "love to hate me." In the end, Kelly isn't blaming anyone but herself over her firing. When asked if she might've upset any of the execs on the show, Kelly admitted that she did. "Listen, ultimately I got fired because of myself," she said. "I'm the one who got myself fired."

She compared herself to "Howard Stern with WNBC" and confessed that she, "had the executives calling me, and Emily's like, 'Who are they?' and I'm like, well, they know me! I know them! But I was causing them a lot of grief," she admitted. "I was causing them a lot of trouble." Not that it matters because now she's gone. But Kelly still offered up a pretty genuine apology. "I'm sorry about that. I feel bad," she added. Doubt the apology will help Kelly get her job back. However, she has four seasons as a Bravo star under her belt that can help her secure another onscreen gig.
