Jim Edmonds, the ex-husband of Meghan King, a Real Housewives of Orange County alum, announced he and long-time girlfriend Kortnie O’Connor are engaged. He and Meghan called it quits back in 2019 after five years of marriage and three children together. After they announced their split, Meghan revealed that Jim had been unfaithful to her with their nanny, which he has since denied. Shortly after their dramatic breakup, the mother of two opened up on a podcast about a one-time threesome she and Jim had early in their marriage.
It was later revealed that Kortnie, the woman Jim is now engaged to, was the woman who Meghan trusted enough to have this imitate moment with her husband at the time. She later claimed that Kortnie and Jim were likely intimate more than once while he and Meghan were married. However, now that the couple has finalized their divorce, the former housewife is happy Jim is in a stable relationship for the sake of their kids.
A source close to Us Weekly revealed Jim and Kortnie got engaged this past July. "They are living their life privately and are enjoying this exciting new chapter," the insider added. On August 12, the 36-year-old took to her Instagram page to confirm the news regarding her and Jim's engagement. She posted a black and white photo of herself wearing a massive diamond ring. In the caption, Kortnie wrote, "Dear Diary, A month ago, Jimmy asked me to marry him in the most intimate and personal way. I said yes! Love, Kortnie." The couple first sparked engagement rumors last month when Kortnie shared an Instagram Story wearing the massive diamond while eating chocolate.
The former professional baseball player later posted a photo of his new fiancée with their new puppy. "Mama’s got a new love," Jim captioned the picture, which also displayed the same ring on her finger. As for how Meghan feels about her ex's new romance, she actually approves. The main reason why she is happy for his new relationship is partially due to the three children they share: Aspen and twin sons Hart and Hayes. "I would feel that stability for my children is what I care about the most," Meghan, who is now dating Will Roos, said. "So any kind of long-term committed relationship that Jim is in, I fully, fully support because that’s absolutely the best for my children." Jim and Kortine went official with their relationship in April 2020. The 51-year-old has previously raved about Kortnie and how she has positively affected his and his kid's lives.
Even though Meghan and Jim had several ups and downs in their relationship on The Real Housewives of Orange County, Meghan is glad Jim found a stable relationship. He and Kortnie seem to be madly in love and will hopefully go the distance. Meghan is only thinking about the well-being of her children, and she hopes this relationship will contribute positively to them.
