Elizabeth Vargas of the Real Housewives of Orange County reacted to the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills trailer by joking about her divorce. The Beverly Hills version of the franchise dropped the preview for its highly anticipated 11th season and received a loud reaction from fans. The trailer teased dramatic moments, the promotion of fan-favorite Sutton Stracke and the introduction of new cast members Crystal Kung Minkoff and Kathy Hilton. It seemed to leave such an impression that even other housewives had to talk about it, including rookie housewife Vargas.

Vargas joined The Real Housewives of Orange County for its landmark 15th season in 2020. She received mixed reviews from fans and contributed interesting storylines like growing up in a cult. The housewives’ city faced several challenges during production due to the pandemic. The season was filmed as the world was changing, and was the first housewives franchise to film with social distancing. The series also garnered attention through polarizing headlines involving stars Braunwyn Windham-Burke and Kelly Dodd. Vargas joked on Instagram that she’s happy the tabloids are shifting their gaze.

“I’m so excited,” said the Orange County newbie in a post, which was captured by the fan page Queens of Bravo on Instagram. “Looks like my divorce isn’t the only messy trash in the tabloids.” Vargas filed for divorce from ex-husband Brent Bodal back in 2017 but the uncoupling was not finalized until July 2020. In January 2021, Michelle Fox, Bodal’s girlfriend, blasted the reality star online. “We mind our own business, except when [she] has been constantly attacking to us and is obsessed with talking about Bernt,” wrote Fox on Instagram, “It’s beyond creepy.” The new girlfriend also told Vargas to “go away and get a life.” Fox claimed she and Bodal sent Vargas two cease-and-desist letters.

The "messy trash" from the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills trailer that Vargas is referring to is likely the lawsuit against Tom and Erika Girardi. The Girardis have been accused of embezzling a $2 million settlement intended for the families of plane crash victims. How Erika handles the situation in front of the Bravo cameras has been highly anticipated. The trailer revealed that on the show, Girardi and her fellow housewives will be confronting the situation head-on.

Andy Cohen teased a major shake-up to the cast of The Real Housewives of Orange County for its upcoming season. Vargas’ future on the show is unclear. A sophomore season for the cult survivor is anybody’s guess. Fans will have to wait for season 16 to find out what is going on in Orange County.
