News recently broke that Bravo is contemplating giving up on The Real Housewives of New York City Legacy series and are allegedly very close to pulling the plug. The idea was first pitched after the network decided to pause the original series thanks to a few personality clashes. The franchise has always been a fan favorite, but now RHONY, as it once was, might be over for good.

RHONY season 13 was problematic at best, with Bravo deciding to call for a major shakeup. Viewers disliked RHONY's Eboni K. Williams and Leah McSweeney and made it clear they wanted more of the OGs back. Eboni came off a bit preachy, and there were issues with Leah's lack of a storyline. Even Ramona Singer received backlash for how she handled the COVID-19 pandemic. Bravo was hoping to give fans what they were asking for, a new show with familiar faces, but it looks like the idea may be on pause.

The RHONY Legacy Women Were Demanding A Lot Of Money

As usual, the logistics always come down to money. Page Six shared there has been a dispute over how much the RHONY Legacy women should be paid. Found once again in a deadlock, Bravo has allegedly decided to hit "pause" on the show. It has been reported that the network was lowballing the popular housewives, and they were demanding quite a lot of money to appear in the new RHONY Legacy series. Bravo may feel their money can be invested elsewhere, like in new talent, franchises, or the RHONY reboot, which is currently filming.

RHONY Legacy May Not Be Over After All

Another source close to the RHONY Legacy production revealed to Page Six that the show had been axed from the lineup. According to the source, talks have collapsed, and Bravo has taken its offer to the women off the table. While the network "never says never," the dreams of getting the old franchise back are over. Before the network and stars hit a brick wall, it was shared that Luann de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan, Jill Zarin, Kelly Bensimon, and Dorinda Medley, who feuded with Vicki Gunvalson, were going to make up the first season of Legacy, with Ramona and Tinsley Mortimer choosing not to take part in the RHONY Legacy series. However, Andy Cohen did shut down claims Legacy was over for good as he tweeted on January 30, "Don’t believe everything you read #RHONYLegacy." So there may be hope after all.

It's still unclear whether or not Bravo will go ahead with The Real Housewives of New York City Legacy series. Even though the original series will be coming out later this year, the news that Legacy may not happen is upsetting. If Legacy doesn't come to fruition, hopefully, the reboot will fill that RHONY void fans have been feeling.
