Every entry in the Real Housewives franchise has its own fun energy, but there's something special about The Real Housewives of New York. The women all have beautiful apartments and love living in Manhattan, whether they're filmed shopping, walking in Central Park, or jetting off to the Hamptons for the weekend (or the summer). It's safe to say that Bethenny Frankel was the most popular cast member, but now that she's been off the show for a while, there have been some other big personalities filling her place.
The cast will change a bit when the show comes back for season 13, as Tinsley has quit the show and Dorinda is gone now as well. Looking at the season 12 cast, who seems like the nicest person and who seems like the meanest?
Sonja Morgan
Sonja Morgan has an interesting history, but she's the least likeable cast member on RHONY. For years, fans have watched her completely fall apart at random times, and she can be pretty mean-spirited.
Sonja acts like more of a celebrity than a regular person, often mentioning her ex-husband's famous last name and acting like she has always been part of a wealthy, famous scene.
Ramona Singer
From hilarious taglines to her love for Pinot Grigio, RHONY fans are very familiar with long-time cast member Ramona Singer.
Unfortunately, Ramona has a tendency to make every situation all about her. She doesn't like when people have other things going on and can't attend one of her events or gatherings, and she can be pretty unreasonable. Ramona also gets overly emotional at times, either screaming or crying, and she doesn't seem like she can listen to reason in those moments.
Luann de Lesseps
Luann de Lesseps has been on the show for a really long time and has been part of many wild moments.
Luann has never been a very likeable person. At first, she was known as The Countess as she was married to Count Alexandre de Lesseps, and she was a bit snobby, schooling the other cast members on their manners. As the seasons went on, Luann has become more full of herself, constantly talking about Cabaret and making sure that the attention is always on her. When Bethenny was on the show, the two used to fight constantly and it was tough not to agree with Bethenny's assessment that Luann was too conceited and needed to think about other people more.
Leah McSweeney
Leah McSweeney joined the cast in season 12 and quickly grew on fans. She can be harsh and doesn't keep her opinions to herself, and while that would be tough IRL, it's one reason why she makes a good addition to the cast.
Leah knows who she is and that's admirable. She's doing a great job raising her daughter and it's adorable to see how close they are, as fans get some Rory/Lorelai Gilmore vibes from their relationship. Leah is much more interesting than some other housewives have been. She's also open about her past, which is a good quality to have on a reality show since viewers are always curious to learn more about the newest cast members.
Tinsley Mortimer
Socialite Tinsley Mortimer might not seem super likeable at first glance, as she's grown up in the lap of luxury. She is open about her mug shots and the fact that she was arrested after trespassing outside her partner's house, according to Town and Country.
Tinsley totally won fans of RHONY over, though, as she is sweet and has talked a lot about wanting to find love, marriage, and start a family. Some of the other cast members accused her of hiding her relationship with Scott, but it's easy to respect that Tinsley doesn't want to discuss every single detail of her life on camera. Now Tinsley is engaged, and she will be missed on the reality show, as she always had a positive, kind vibe.
Dorinda Medley
Anyone who has seen season 12 of RHONY noticed that Dorinda Medley was struggling. She would often cry in scenes and say that she was overwhelmed by her life. Dorinda herself said she wishes she hadn't filmed the season.
Because she has been open about not being totally happy, Dorinda is the most likeable cast member on RHONY, which is one reason why it's sad that she won't be returning for season 13. Sure, it's true that she would often drink too much and yell at the others, or say really mean things. But she was going through a hard time and when she was in a better frame of mind, Dorinda was always a kind person. Her tagline is "make it nice" and she loves hosting people at her home in the Berkshires. Anyone who is close pals with Dorinda is very lucky to have her.
