Fans of The Real Housewives of New York are calling out Ramona Singer after seeing a recently resurfaced comment she posted last year. The controversial show star has been at odds with newcomer Eboni K. Williams due to their political and cultural differences. While Ramona seemingly works to become more open-minded to embracing more diverse women into her circle, viewers are blasting the OG housewife and calling for her removal from the show.
With RHONY season 13 being filmed during a year of nationwide protests against racial injustice, the casting of the show's first Black housewife was sure to bring a new dynamic. Eboni's background as a lawyer, news analyst, and inclusion moderator made her the perfect candidate to shake things up within the all-white cast. Through debates around racism, micro-aggressions, and white fragility, Eboni has had a number of teachable moments on the show. While viewers have seen the ladies embrace Eboni's point of view, Ramona has been a little more difficult to get around. After watching Ramona give Eboni pushback when she was asked about the 2020 election, show fans decided to do a little digging into Ramona's past social media activity.
One Redditor recently shared a screenshot of a comment Ramona left in June 2020 where she said that "all lives matter." With her comment coming on the heels of heightened racial tension following the death of George Floyd, not only was her remark insensitive, but it also reflected her real views that she appears to be hiding when engaging with Eboni on the show. "Honestly - I know a lot of folks love her - but I’m ready to let Ramona go," the Redditor captioned the thread. The screenshot included a tweet where someone reposted Ramona's response to Eboni questioning if anyone supported white supremacy.
During filming, Ramona claimed that no one had given Eboni "any indication of what she's trying to accuse us of." But when considering Ramona's response to the Black Lives Matter movement in June, it looks like Ramona wasn't being honest and doing the gaslighting that Eboni accused her of. "She literally and figuratively danced around that topic," another person said in response. "Ramona's the girl we always knew she was, and I like that Eboni is making her squirm," added someone else. Since the show's inception, Ramona hasn't been shy about blurting out her judgments against the other housewives while lifting herself up.
She and Leah McSweeney have been going at it due to Ramona's dislike for adult discussions. Now fans are calling out the hypocrisy Ramona displays within the franchise. "Why does she deserve a pass for bad behavior and intolerant remarks," one person asked while referencing how many people have demanded that The Real Housewives of Dallas get canceled due to alleged racism within the cast.
