The Real Housewives of New York star LuAnn de Lesseps is getting called out by some fans who were offended by her heated debate with Eboni K. Williams. After Eboni boasted about being the most educated among the RHONY, LuAnn took issue with the remark and told Eboni to leave her home. However, the move rubbed viewers the wrong way and now they want the Countess to check her privilege.

Eboni has held her own on her first season on Real Housewives of New York. During the ladies' recent trip to the Hamptons, there were multiple instances where Eboni turned their discussions into teachable moments about race and diversity. But while back at LuAnn's home, things got heated after Leah McSweeney defended her right to talk about sexual topics despite Ramona Singer's posh attitude. After calling all the women "h*es" and storming off, things continued to ignite with Eboni getting involved. Alas, after Eboni reminded the ladies that she had the most college degrees, Ramona and LuAnn somehow felt like she was acting "angry."

The lawyer and news analyst called out the "white fragility" in the room, which led to her leaving LuAnn de Lesseps' home. Clearly, this was a sensitive subject and scene to film, and it received mixed reviews from viewers. One person took to Reddit to share an old photo of LuAnn wearing a giant-sized afro while dressed as Diana Ross. "The thing is, she didn't even learn from it," one person said in response to the backlash LuAnn has received over the photo and over racially insensitive things she said and done in the past. "My bf saw this and said “that’s gotta be a real housewife - no one else is that stupid," another person said.

Someone else called out LuAnn's visible tone-deafness when it comes to issues surrounding race and culture. "The fact that Diana Ross hair has never even looked close to that says so much about how she views black women," said someone else. "It's just my regular bronzer," added another in reference to LuAnn's old defense of her alleged blackface activity. Another person referenced LuAnn's violent past and how her white privilege helped her walk away without facing serious jail time. "This is cringe. But the fact that she ASSAULTED A COP, got a slap on the wrist, and never acknowledged her own unearned privilege? That’s unconscionable," they said.

During the last episode of Real Housewives of New York, Eboni explained the double standard that many Black women face when engaging in a heated conversation. While Leah was able to call all the women out of their names and storm off without anyone saying anything, the moment Eboni raises her voice, Ramona and LuAnn told her she was acting "angry." If Eboni can get called angry, why couldn't Leah? The conversation and scene were an eye-opener for many and another reminder of why the need for diversity is important.
