Leah McSweeney admitted to drifting apart from newcomer Eboni K. Williams after what they went through filming The Real Housewives of New York City season 13. This was the first season in Housewives history where a reunion show was canceled and the cast wasn't given a chance to recap the past season. Despite ending season 13 as friends, reports show that Leah and Eboni grew distant. Recently, insiders claimed that Leah joined Luann de Lesseps and Ramona Singer in snubbing Eboni at an industry event. According to Leah, however, they just haven't spoken in a while.

It was during a recent release party in NYC for Dave Quinn's new Housewives tell-all book Not All Diamonds and Rosé when Leah, Luann, and Ramona were rumored to have purposely left the party when Eboni arrived. Insiders claim the tension between the veteran cast members and the show's first Black housewife stems from the lackluster viewership RHONY season 13 had. Sources say the ladies are blaming Eboni for the low ratings, claiming they're a result of Eboni's "preachy" race debates on the show. However, Eboni has already said she isn't taking any blame for the low ratings.

Alas, when it comes to Eboni and Leah's friendship, Leah admits that things haven't been the same since filming wrapped and the reunion was canceled. "I honestly haven't talked to her, haven't seen her, haven't heard too much from her," Leah told ET when asked about the state of her friendship with Eboni. "I think she was traveling? But everything's OK." Leah claimed she is "cool with everybody," while admitting to how "weird" season 13 was. "I think I would definitely [come back], absolutely, because I really wouldn't want the last season to be the way I went out, just because it was a weird season with COVID and everything," Leah said. Season 13 was filmed during the height of lockdown and COVID-19 quarantine in NYC, so the dynamic was extremely different.

Leah and Eboni arguing with someone on RHONY

With the heightened racial tension that swept through the US in 2020, in addition to a presidential election, Eboni felt compelled to tackle the hard-hitting issues that were long overlooked within the Housewives franchise. While Leah presented herself as an ally on the show, Eboni admitted to being surprised by some of the things she heard Leah say during her confessionals. Leah and Eboni were extremely close during filming, but once season 13 ended and the reunion was canceled, Leah and Eboni weren't seen hanging out like they used to. Eboni had already experienced heated exchanges with Luann and Ramona during filming, so it's not entirely surprising that they're not speaking.

Many fans are bothered by Leah being rumored to have snubbed Eboni, with viewers being worried about the future of The Real Housewives of New York City. With that said, it's probably worth bringing it back for another season to determine if the viewership has really dropped or if fans just weren't feeling season 13. With all the unfinished business among the season 13 cast, there'll likely be a few showdowns waiting in season 14 should the same ladies return.
