Leah McSweeney is firing back at claims she assaulted Heather Thomson, causing her to cut her time on The Real Housewives of New York short this season. Leah joined the ladies of the Empire State last season as a replacement for fan favorite housewife, Bethenny Frankel. She had quite a memorable first season as a housewife and left a big impression on viewers. Leah was introduced as Tinsley's friend; however, after Tinsley chose to leave the show, Leah was left to fend for herself with the rest of the cast. Her drunken antics, her liberal political views, and her sex positive attitude did not gel nicely with Ramona, who suddenly decided she was a prude. The two did not get along all season, and things came to a head when Leah found out Ramona spoke about her mental health diagnosis.

While it seemed like their relationship was headed in the right direction this season, they fell back into their old ways once again. It started when Leah accused Ramona of lying about donating blood plasma and only got worse from there. Leah was further annoyed that Ramona decided to invite former RHONY cast member, Heather Thomson, to their cast trip to the Hamptons. Not having actually met Heather, Leah was upset at her for things she had said about the other women during an episode of her podcast. Leah let Heather know exactly how she felt about what she had to say about her friends, didn't really seem as satisfied with her explanation as the other woman did. While their confrontation ended there, an even bigger confrontation was promised in the following episode.

Leah is now firing back at Heather's claims, that the reason she chose to stop filming season 13 is because she was assaulted by Leah. During an Instagram Live session, Leah gave her response to those claims, basically calling them bogus. She claims, the real reason Heather left the show is because she wasn't able to forge natural connections with any of the women and nothing she has been telling the press is true. Leah says she didn't like Heather from the start because she felt she was disingenuous and is consistently speaking negatively behind other's backs. She also says whatever she said or did on that trip was coming from a place of hurt due to her dealing with the loss of her grandmother, and that she apologized for her behavior to everyone there, including Heather.

Leah goes on further, claiming Heather is now spreading lies about her in the press, just like she did to the other women. The reason Leah didn't like her in the first place was because she thought Heather wasn't genuine, and Leah says Heather proved her right by accusing her of assault. On top of accusing her of assault, Leah says Heather is attacking both her sobriety and her issues with mental health. In her eyes, Heather drags other women down in order to stay relevant and stay on top, and that she won't stand for it. Leah thinks there are many more important issues discussed over the course of this season and those are unfortunately being overshadowed by Heather's attempt to stay relevant. As E! News reports, in response to Leah's rant, Heather simply encouraged fans to watch the show and form their own opinion on what happened.

It will be interesting to see if Leah chooses to return after this season comes to an end. It seems like every episode features her getting into an argument with a different housewife. She has not been on the same page with Ramona since the very beginning, and now she's on the outs with Heather too. LuAnn also called her friend an angry black woman, so it's hard to imagine her and Leah getting along after that. It seems like her only allies at this point are Sonja and Ebony. She is having a rough second season, which seems to be a trend for the Real Housewives of New York ladies. Either way, Leah should choose to do what is right for her.
