Eboni K. Williams has revealed some shocking responses she received from Black viewers after the premiere. The Real Housewives of New York’s newest star is sharing fans’ reactions to her time on the series. The new season is only a couple of episodes in, but viewers are loving the new dynamic.

Williams from The Real Housewives of New York has had an onrush of heated reactions from fans since appearing on the show. Williams has been helping to show the women of the Big Apple a different view of life in New York. Some viewers have been turned off by her preachy comments, while others feel like it is a breath of fresh air. Williams is the first Black cast member of the New York franchise and enjoys educating those around her. Season 13 was filmed during the height of the 2020 election, but Williams was prepared as a Howard University graduate and an attorney.

Williams recently spoke out on The Breakfast Club about the shocking backlash she received from her own community. While she has gotten a lot of love, she has also gotten some colder remarks. She told the host that she “expected white uncomfortability. I did not expect the number of Black folks to be so uncomfortable by my presence on the show.”

On the June 30 episode, Williams went on to say she had been sent some messages from other Black women and men who felt like she should stop teaching and just be happy to be on the show. One message that she was sent said, “You’ve ruined my good time. We don’t watch this show for anything but white people’s foolishness.” According to the rookie, some people are feeling like she is making them uncomfortable. She stated that the messages revealed she was ruining their entertainment, saying, “That’s really how they feel. People want to harp on the Blackness of it all. Black people are feeling like I’m making them cringe.”

But even though there are some who wish Williams would just sit back and relax, there are more Bravo fans who are hoping that the commentator comes back for a sophomore season. Naturally, Bravo has to decide that they want her back, and then Williams would be able to agree. Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New York is not currently filming, so there is a grace period for everything to be worked out.
