The Real Housewives of New York star Dorinda Medley is defending the show even amid this season's poor ratings. Bravo fans have not been impressed with season 13. Now that there is clashing behind the scenes, it seems appropriate that Medley has come forward to defend the show that made her famous.

The RHONY franchise has been a fan-favorite amongst Bravo viewers for some time. Many iconic housewives have been made on the show, such as Bethenny Frankel, Medley, and Ramona Singer. The show's premise followed wealthy women around Manhattan and their Upper West Side lifestyle. Even though Medley was recently axed from the show after a rough last season, she is poised to be a comeback in a Peacock Real Housewives spin-off. She is also not above showing her love for the RHONY franchise.

The icon that is Dorinda Medley recently sat down with the Behind The Velvet Rope podcast to chat with host David Yontef about her true feelings regarding The Real Housewives of New York. Every tabloid has had a report regarding how terrible this past RHONY season has been. Still, Medley only defended the show, claiming that Manhattan is a major character in the series, which has been brought down by the COVID-19 pandemic. The blonde shared that this past season was tough to film, pointing out that it's one thing to film a new season with COVID-19 protocols if you're in Beverly Hills or New Jersey, given that there is so much outdoor space. However, "You've got to remember we as New York girls, that's what we do. New York and people and restaurants. So I have to say, although I'm incredibly pleased that, you know, people miss me and it's so nice to see all those memes and everything. I can't take full credit." Check out the full interview below.

There is no doubt that this has been a tough year. The ever-humble mother of one said she couldn't comment further, "Cause I'm on pause, like a good Memorex tape. I’m on Pause!" Bravo fans are now well aware why Medley has been on pause: she will be starring with other OG housewives on a new Peacock spinoff. The fans' wishes have been heard, and they couldn't be happier.

The newest spinoff is set to feature Medley, Jill Zarin, Phaedra Parks, Vicki Gunvalson, and a couple of others. According to reports, the cast will be filming for a week at a private location, and Bravo viewers can only hope it is Real Housewives All-Stars season 2. Frankly, the fact that Medley has remained so humble and thankful only proves that she deserves to be on the franchise in some capacity.
