Teresa Giudice from The Real Housewives of New Jersey recently got engaged to Luis Ruelas, and here’s everything to know about how their relationship progressed. Teresa was married to Joe Giudice in 1999 and the two share four daughters, Gia, Gabriella, Milania, and Audriana Guidice. While they lived a lavish life together, Teresa’s relationship with Joe had its ups and downs. Joe was frequently shown talking down to Teresa, and cameras caught him putting down his wife while talking on the phone to someone.
In one of the biggest Real Housewives scandals, Teresa and Joe were found guilty of fraud in 2014. Teresa spent 11 months in prison, while Joe served 41 months. Joe, who was not a U.S. citizen, was deported to Italy. Sadly, their relationship didn’t survive such a huge ordeal. and they divorced in 2020. On The Real Housewives of New Jersey, Teresa admitted that she blamed Joe for what he put her and the kids through. Soon after she was released, she lost her mother to pneumonia and resented having to go to prison, as she could have spent that time with her ailing mother before she passed away. Teresa was at the Jersey Shore in the summer of 2020 and was thinking about her parents. She prayed to them to send her someone that was everything they would want for her. Two weeks later, she was taking a walk when Luis approached her. He handed her his business card but soon came back and asked her for her number. The two began dating, but Teresa kept it quiet for some time, with only a few friends and family members in the know. The last season of RHONJ started off with speculation from other cast members that Teresa was seeing someone. Teresa from RHONJ dropped hints here and there but finally revealed later on in the season that she and Luis were official.
Teresa Makes It Instagram Official
In December of 2020, Teresa posted a picture of the happy couple on Instagram with the caption, “The BEST thing that came out of 2020.” Fans bombarded her with congratulations, happy that she finally found a good partner to settle down with. However, unflattering allegations about Luis came out, including information about a lawsuit filed against him by his ex-fiancé, Vanessa Reiser, who claimed that he was “controlling and abusive.” Luis’s past didn’t deter Teresa, and this past July, they celebrated their one-year anniversary. They have also met each other’s kids, and Joe from RHONJ even met Luis during a trip to the Bahamas.
The Proposal
On October 21, 2021, Luis popped the question in an elaborate proposal in Amanzoe, Greece. The couple was joined by Teresa’s long-time friend and former RHONJ housewife Dina Manzo and her husband, Dave Cantin. The proposal was complete with fireworks and a violinist, while Luis knelt on the sand with candles lit all around them. The couple celebrated by throwing an engagement party in December. Teresa posted happy couples pictures on Instagram, and in the pics, she and Luis were surrounded by close friends and family. Teresa hasn’t announced a wedding date yet, but fans can’t wait to see her as a beautiful The Real Housewives of New Jersey bride.
