Melissa and Joe, whose tumultous relationship with Joe's sister Teresa Giudice has dominated headlines since RHONJ season 3, have become no strangers to wealth. Besides their hefty paychecks from Bravo, Melissa and Joe are both entrepreneurs with their own respective businesses; Envy by Melissa Gorga first launched in 2015, while Joe's niche is real estate development.
With Joe's real estate experience and money to spare despite Joe's recent problems with his tenants, the Gorgas first announced that they bought a new home in Franklin Lakes, New Jersey, in late 2021. After almost a year of renovations, Melissa, Joe, and their three children finally moved into the mansion in mid-November, and haven't stopped showing off parts of the interior on Instagram since. While RHONJ fans have been treated to shots of their foyer and Melissa's closet, Melissa's recent reveal of their upgraded kitchen has been a miss with Reddit users in a thread started by u/the_smart_girl. RHONJ Fans Think The Gorgas' Kitchen Lacks Personality
Viewers who have watched Melissa and Joe fight with Teresa and other RHONJ co-stars like Jennifer Aydin throughout the years know that the married couple have particularly-strong personalities, yet their kitchen doesn't reflect that in the slightest. Instead of any hints of flair, the Gorgas' kitchen is decked in white marble with mature velvet chairs. While the kitchen does look expensive, RHONJ fans think Melissa and Joe's central area is bland. "[It] looks like a communal space at a luxury apartment complex that you can rent out or at an old people facility," one Reddit user commented, while others described the space as a "corporate lunchroom."
RHONJ Fans Aren't Into Melissa & Joe Gorga's Kitchen Layout
Besides the kitchen's lack of individuality, RHONJ fans also have a problem with the way Melissa and Joe designed the space itself. Although some RHONJ fans think that Melissa and Joe's modern style stands out, they aren't impressed with the kitchen's large chandelier, bulky breakfast nook seats, or two sinks installed within feet of one another. Several Reddit users complained that the Gorgas' layout lacked continuity and appeared nonsensical; comparisons included an outdated Pinterest board and Kim Kardashian's similarly-barren home, which has also been routinely criticized by viewers of The Kardashians. "I am quite honestly repulsed by their design aesthetic and I never care to look upon the interior of their home again," one person even commented.
Although RHONJ fans aren't impressed with Melissa and Joe's recent kitchen reveal, the Gorgas have bigger fish to fry than people's social media opinions. In addition to Melissa and Joe's absence from Teresa's wedding to Luis Ruelas and Joe's altercation with Jennifer at BravoCon 2022, the Gorgas were recently sued after they allegedly skipped the bill on construction materials for their home. While Melissa and Joe will no doubt continue to show off the interior of their finished home, viewers will probably get a better look at the criticized kitchen when The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 finally premieres.
