The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Jennifer Aydin was given a beautiful new ring, but how much is the second engagement ring really worth? Aydin has always been known to flash her Chanel jewelry and precious gems, but her husband’s surprise shocked her and her fans.
The Bravo network first introduced Aydin during season 9 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, and she quickly put her foot in it thanks to her Tequila Jen alter ego. While the production crew showed off her lavish Paramus, New Jersey, lifestyle, fans found she tried to copy Teresa Giudice. The Turkish housewife made it clear that she was proud to be a plastic surgeon’s wife and wore his degrees with pride as if they were her own. Her sharp tongue has cut through some of the Garden State’s strongest women, and recently she held court at the reunion, taking down three housewives before the first commercial break.
Fans watched on the season finale as Aydin has gifted a beautiful ring by her husband Bill Aydin during a family anniversary dinner. As soon as the box opened, the mother screamed “shut up” with her eyes bulging out and quickly kissed the surgeon. Bill proposed (for a second time) at a lavish dinner that their daughter, Olivia Aydin, set up. It can sometimes be hard for fans to swallow how much money this item must have cost, but Kimberly Abruzzo, a gemologist at Rare Carat has been able to give us some insight.
The Jersey housewife finally got the engagement of her dreams even though her first one was not too shabby. According to a source, Aydin’s ring has been set with an epic 9-carat cushion-cut “fancy yellow” diamond. Most Bravo fans know this as a canary diamond since many of the housewives have been gifted the same style. Fancy yellow gems of this size are very rare and come along with a price tag to match. Circling the giant center stone is a traditional white diamond halo accompanied by a “hidden halo,” adding sparkle from all angles. Rare Carat explained that it was set in “A split-shank band with three rows of pavé diamonds further up the bling factor on this stunning design.” This gem of a gem would have set Bill back at least $300,000, but for his wife, this belated engagement ring may have been worth waiting 18 years for.
Aydin was spotted wearing the ring on the reunion special as she threw Margaret Josephs’ under the bus, accusing her of hearing the rumor that Evan Goldschneider was cheating on his wife. She also came for Melissa Gorga as the two seem to have a weird power struggle going on after an Instagram feud. Even though she has a sharp tongue, she can now also use that huge rock to cut the women down.
