NeNe Leakes and Cynthia Bailey have seemingly rekindled their friendship after falling out on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The two spent years being close friends but ended their friendship ahead of NeNe's exit in season 12. But amid the passing of NeNe's husband Greg Leakes, it looks like the loss was enough for NeNe and Cynthia to finally put their differences aside. NeNe recently shared photos from her new lounge and Cynthia and Marlo Hampton were both in attendance.
As a show OG, NeNe had the upper hand when Cynthia made her show inception in season 3. NeNe took a liking to Cynthia, but others felt like Cynthia became NeNe's new minion. Cynthia expressed her devotion to her friendship with NeNe by drafting a friendship contract that rubbed the other ladies the wrong way. Over the years, viewers often called out NeNe for seemingly using Cynthia's loyalty to her advantage. But as Cynthia matured, she became more courageous when it came to confronting NeNe about her bad behavior. It was a build-up that led to them ending the friendship, but fans knew NeNe and Cynthia would always come back together.
Over the week, NeNe shared a photo slide promoting her night out at her new lounge The Linnethia. In attendance were a few famous faces including Cynthia, Marlo, and NBA champion Lamar Odom. "Fun times @thelinnethialounge It was crazy packed Packed Packed last nite," NeNe captioned the post. NeNe's lengthy caption went on to thanks her fans and supporters who have been serenading her with love in recent weeks following the loss of Greg. She asked for patience as she continues to heal and process the heartbreaking life change. "Please work wit me as I be having highs & lows," she added. "Trying to adjust to my new normal so I may not always be present in the moment."
Many of NeNe's old co-stars were present at the celebration of life ceremony for Greg. He was a key figure alongside NeNe during her 12 seasons on RHOA. They are one of the only couples in Housewives history who divorced and remarried on the show. It's likely that his passing helped NeNe mend some of her broken relationships, including the one she had with Cynthia. Throughout NeNe and Cynthia's many ups and downs on the show, they were always able to come back together. Cynthia isn't the type to hold grudges, which has made her a constant ally on the show and gateway to bring enemies together.
But Cynthia is not expected to return in season 14 and NeNe will likely not be invited back or return anytime soon. NeNe left The Real Housewives of Atlanta on bad terms and launched a full-on boycott against the network. It's a good thing that her new lounge is doing well because it might be some time before NeNe makes a return to Bravo. Cynthia didn't leave the show on bad terms. So if she ever does make an appearance in the future, maybe NeNe can find a way to fit herself in. It's always good to see friends stand the test of time.
