Alexia Echevarria is revealing how she pushed The Real Housewives of Miami producers to share Frankie Rosello's recovery journey on the show. The OG housewife and her family have been extremely transparent on the reboot when it comes to Frankie's medical condition following a 2011 car accident. Alexia shares a close bond with her two sons and wanted to openly share her at-home life with viewers no matter how tough some of the conversations have gotten. Her hope was to inspire and motivate others facing the same challenges.

Season 4 has followed Alexia's journey to planning her wedding to Todd Nepola, mothering her two adult sons, all while dealing with her mother's ailing health. Alexia's two sons, Peter and Frankie, are from her first marriage to Pedro Rosello. It was in 2011 when Frankie was involved in a serious car accident that left him with severe brain damage. During one family meeting, Todd criticized Peter for putting Frankie in situations that he can't handle. The conversation was extremely sensitive and things got heated, but in the end, Peter and Alexia both agreed everyone had to do what was best for Frankie.

In one episode, Alexia shares a pivotal doctor's appointment on the 10th anniversary of Frankie's accident that almost was cut from the show. Speaking on why she pushed producers to share Frankie's recovery, Alexia explained her hope to inspire others. “I said [to producers], ‘You know what? You know how many people in America you’re going to help?’ This is one of the reasons why I did this show," Alexia told Page Six. The OG housewife also credits all the love and dedication she put into Frankie's recovery then and now. “Doctors would tell [me], if he didn’t have a mom like me, he wouldn’t have made it,” Alexia said. “I never accepted ‘no.’ I never gave up.”

Many viewers responded to the heated family moment between Todd and Peter over Frankie. Afterward, Todd took to social media to thank fans for their feedback and acknowledged the family is all learning and growing together when it comes to caring for Frankie. With Todd coming down so hard on Peter, it rubbed a number of fans the wrong way. But producers were able to capture Todd and Peter make peace for the sake of their love for Frankie. It's one of the many brave real-life occurrences Alexia has shared on the show.

In addition to Frankie's recovery, Alexia also was dealing with her mom who unfortunately passed away on the original day she had planned her wedding. Elsewhere, Alexia set up a meeting with a man who was the secret lover of her second husband Herman Echeverria. When accepting her late second husband's sexual identity, Alexia opened up and revealed that her own father also hid his preference throughout his life. Alexia was emotional wishing that Herman and her father got to freely live in their truth while they were alive. But she showed her love and support for giving people the space to be themselves. The Real Housewives of Miami star doesn't have to start drama to have a storyline. Her real-life is more than enough to keep viewers genuinely invested in Alexia's screentime.
