The Real Housewives franchise started back in 2006 with Orange County as its first city in the franchise. Bravo fans had no idea what would soon follow and how much the franchise would grow over the years. Nowadays, The Real Housewives has eight active cities on its roster filled with iconic ladies who make reality television exciting.

Fans wish they could become best friends with their favorite housewives but not every housewife has the same allure. Some housewives become unintentional two-timing villains that viewers love to watch on screen but wouldn't want to be friends with. And with so many Housewives to choose from, it's hard to pick who the crowd favorites are and who fans wouldn't want to be around.

BFFs: Sonja Morgan (RHONY)

Sonja Morgan has been a beloved member of The Real Housewives of New York City since the third season. Because of her relationship with some of the OG housewives, Sonja feels like an original housewife herself. She just works.

Her outgoing personality and bubbly one-liners make her a ball to hang out with. And whenever there's a new housewife in the group, Sonja always takes the time to get to know them before making a decision. She's one of the funniest housewives in the Bravo universe.

Avoid: Danielle Staub (RHONJ)

Danielle Staub was one of those housewives that no one wanted to get too close to. Because of her past and her erratic attitude towards men she was dating and other housewives, Danielle is a threat to have as a friend.

As much as viewers love watching Danielle in the early seasons of Real Housewives of New Jersey, Danielle is too much of a wild card to get close with. Whenever the ladies gave Danielle a second chance (Teresa and Margaret), it always bit them in the behind.

BFFs: Kandi Burruss (RHOA)

There's some special about Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Kandi Burruss. Because of her music career success, Kandi doesn't need the show, which is part of what makes her such an amazing housewife. She's authentic and real without worrying if she's going to have a spot on the following year's roster. Kandi is on the show because she enjoys doing it, not because it's her only job.

Kandi joined the series in the second season and has been part of the action ever since. And while Kandi always keeps it real, her remarks during the confessionals are some of her best work.

Avoid: Kelly Dodd (RHOC)

Kelly Dodd had the ability to make an iconic housewife. She spoke her mind, she wasn't afraid to make a fool of herself, and she lived a lavish lifestyle. But as time went on, Kelly's true character came out and rubbed fans the wrong way.

As an outspoken woman, some of the things she has said in the past to her daughter, her castmates, and on social media have come off horribly. What's worse is Kelly doesn't feel a need to apologize for her actions. She continues to live as though she hasn't offended anyone. Because of her wild tongue, it's better to keep Dodd at a distance.

BFFs: Lisa Rinna (RHOBH)

After Lisa Rinna joined the cast of Beverly Hills in season five, fans never want her to leave. She's one of the most transparent and consistent women in the series. As an actress, Rinna is also very connected and practically knows everyone.

Rinna can say some things that may hurt people's feelings but at the end of the day, Rinna is a good friend who cares. Viewers would love to have a Rinna in their corner.

Avoid: Jen Shah (RHOSLC)

Bravo's newest city in the franchise, Salt Lake Cityhit the ground running in 2021 with fresh content. Fans were thrilled to meet new women and get to know the inner workings of their day-to-day lives. Jen Shah was a crowd favorite for a long time but as the show went on, viewers (and her friends) realized that Jen had a serious anger problem.

Whenever alcohol or her family is involved, Jen flies off her chair. What's worse is that Jen gets physical. Seeing how she treats her close friend Heather, viewers would be better off staying away from Jen.

BFFs: Tiffany Moon (RHOD)

Tiffany Moon is another new housewife in the Real Housewives of Dallas world that fans adore. Her career as a doctor makes her incredibly interesting. What's more, Tiffany doesn't pretend to have it all together. Sure, she lives a beautiful and wealthy life but she's a frontline worker with twin five-year-old girls and a husband.

She's a busy lady who's trying to find a balance between work and play. It's been a delight for RHOD fans to have a new face in the series, especially with someone as inspiring as Tiffany.

Avoid: Brandi Glanville (RHOBH)

Brandi Glanville hasn't been a main cast member of The Real Housewives since season five but she still manages to find her way back to the group in recent seasons.

Brandi's start as a housewife was respectable. She was far younger than the other ladies and eager to make friends. But as she soon learned, her sense of humor was different than the women she was hanging out with. Brandi soon got on everyone's bad list after running her mouth and saying things off the cuff. Her "friends" couldn't trust her, which is why viewers are better off watching her from afar.

BFFs: Robyn Dixon (RHOP)

Robyn Dixon is an OG housewife in The Real Housewives of Potomac world. Over the years, fans have seen Robyn transform with her friends and her husband, and it's been fun to watch.

Robyn is that one housewife who's level-headed and keeps it real. She has nothing to hide and makes it known throughout the series. Because of her warm heart and calm nature, she would be a welcomed friend.

Avoid: LeeAnn Locken (RHOD)

LeeAnne Locken with a shocked look

LeeAnne Locken was apart of Real Housewives of Dallas for four straight seasons before stepping away. As wealthy and successful as LeAnne was, she was not a friendly girls girl.

She made racist remarks against another woman, she threatened another castmate, and she gets this crazy look in her eye when she's angry. Fans should stay clear of LeeAnne because no one ever knows her true intentions.
