Following Yolanda Hadid's stint on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, the world got to know her supermodel daughter Gigi Hadid and kept up with Gigi's relationship with former One Direction band member Zayn Malik. The world was introduced to Zayn Malik as a contestant on The X Factor season 7, which aired back in 2010 in the UK. Despite auditioning as solo acts, Zayn was put together with Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, and Niall Horan to form what became known as One Direction.

Following The X Factor, One Direction went on to become one of the most successful boybands in music history. Alas, Zayn was the first member to leave One Direction in 2015 to pursue a solo career. Since then, Zayn has released three studio albums: 2016's Mind Of Mine, 2018's Icarus Falls, and 2021's Nobody Is Listening. During Zayn's ascension to pop stardom, Gigi Hadid climbed the fashion ranks to become a supermodel. Gigi was featured on Vogue several times, became a Victoria's Secret angel, and worked with brands such as Chanel, Versace, and Fendi, to name a few.

When it comes to their personal lives, both Zayn and Gigi always had a taste for musicians. For one, Zayn dated fellow singers Geneva Lane (from Belle Amie), Rebecca Ferguson, and Perrie Edwards (from Little Mix) during his time with One Direction. In turn, Gigi dated Cody Simpson between 2013 and 2015 and then briefly dated Joe Jonas in late 2015 - both of whom are singers. It was after Zayn's breakup with Perrie and Gigi's breakup with Joe that this new couple was formed.

Meeting In 2015 & Officially Dating In 2016

Rumors that Gigi and Zayn might be dating started in late 2015 as they both got out of high-profile relationships with other people. However, official confirmation didn't happen until January 2016 when Gigi shared a picture of Zayn (included above) on her Instagram profile. After that original IG post, Gigi appeared on Zayn's music video for "PILLOWTALK" and the couple was subsequently spotted by paparazzi all over the world. By July 2017, Gigi and Zayn were featured on the cover of Vogue as a couple.

Breakup In 2018 & Reconciliation In 2019

In March 2018, both Zayn and Gigi tweeted out statements confirming that their breakup (as seen above). Nonetheless, reports kept indicating that Zayn was trying to win Gigi back, and the rumor mill was expanded when Zayn shared a picture of Gigi's mom, Yolanda Hadid, holding up a GQ magazine that had Zayn on the cover. In any case, things appeared to be officially over when Gigi was spotted on dates with Tyler Cameron from The Bachelorette star Tyler Cameron. But Gigi's fling with Tyler quickly fizzled out, and by January 2020, Zayn and Gigi were officially back together.

Pregnancy In 2020 & Breakup Scandal In 2021

Not only were Gigi and Zayn back together in 2020, but she also promptly announced that she got pregnant just a few months into their reconciliation. The rest of Zayn and Gigi's 2020 was centered around her pregnancy and then welcoming their daughter into this world. Going into 2021, there weren't that many updates coming from Zayn and Gigi, but everything seemed to be perfectly fine between them. Things would only change in October 2021, when The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Yolanda claimed Zayn "struck" her during an argument and considered filing a police report. Zayn quickly issued a statement denying Yolanda's claims, but as of this writing, not much is known yet in regards to that situation.
