Dinners hosted by the Real Housewives women always promise to be lavish, fun-filled nights, but they sometimes end with major drama. For most people, this kind of entertaining means inviting a few friends over and then serving a crowd-pleasing meal like lasagna. However, dinners with the housewives usually consist of gourmet meals prepared by private chefs, top-tier champagnes, and guests wearing designer cocktail dresses.

The housewives pride themselves on hosting beautiful dinners, and table settings are something that they put a lot of thought into. However, on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Yolanda Hadid was called out for her faux pas during her dinner party, when she put hearts on the place cards of some housewives, but not others. When Kyle Richards asked about it, Yolanda joked that the ones with the hearts were “The Dream Team.” It seemed as if Yolanda was playing favorites, which the other housewives felt was a distasteful thing for a host to do.

Sometimes, the husbands are the ones who create drama during dinner parties. When Erika and her then-husband Tom Girardi invited Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd to dinner, Tom snapped at Erika. He was upset because she interrupted him while he was talking. Lisa was taken aback by that and later joked that her own spouse Ken Todd would never do that to her. In another dinner hosted by Yolanda and David Foster, her now ex-husband David Foster got up to perform at the piano, and when the other housewives tried to sing along, he shushed them. Still, these moments pale in comparison to some of the wild dinners that made Real Housewives history.

The Dinner Party From Hell

Split image of Faye Resnick, Kyle Richards, and Allison Dubois on RHOBH

The first season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was fraught with feuds between the women. When Camille Grammer hosted a dinner party and invited her psychic friend Allison DuBois, it was apparent that Allison was there to stir up trouble. Allison sipped on her huge cocktail or puffed on her electronic cigarette as she smirked at the women around the table. Sure enough, when the women asked her to give a reading, Allison turned to Kyle and told her that Kyle’s husband Mauricio Umansky would “never emotionally fulfill” her.” Allison also made things creepy when she gleefully told everyone that she knew when everyone would die.

To further increase the tension, Kyle’s friend Faye Resnick confronted Camille about calling her “morally corrupt,” and Camille replied that she said that because Faye had posed for Playboy. Soon, fights were breaking out amongst all the women. Things got way out of hand, to the point that Taylor Armstrong stood up and yelled, “Enough!” It seemed as if she was scolding a table full of misbehaving kids.

The Table Flip

Teresa Giudice The Real Housewives of New Jersey RHONJ

Teresa Giudice’s infamous table flip during The Real Housewives of New Jersey season one is something that is an iconic part of Bravo history. In the season finale, Teresa hosted a dinner for her friends and family at an Italian restaurant. Things were going smoothly until Danielle Staub sauntered in and casually tossed on the table, “Cop Without a Badge,” which is a book based on her life. None of the housewives liked Danielle due to rumors that she ran with unsavory characters and that she’d been engaged nineteen times. Danielle came to the dinner with the intent of clearing up these rumors, but things came to a head when she demanded that Teresa “pay attention.”

Teresa was shocked at how Danielle talked down to her, and fans saw her temper flare for the first time. Incensed, Teresa flipped the edge of the table twice, causing plates and glasses to break. Teresa screamed “Prostitution whore!” at Danielle, while Joe Giudice led Teresa away to calm her down. Since then, the table flip has been the source of many memes, and Teresa has often joked about it on the show.

The Butter Knife

RHOA argument

Candiace Dillard Bassett hosted a dinner party for the ladies of The Real Housewives of Potomac, to sample recipes for her husband Chris Bassett’s cookbook. There was already a lot of trouble brewing amongst the housewives, and when Ashley Darby walked in, viewers knew that things would get explosive. Candiace and Ashley have always had a strained relationship, which never seems to get resolved due to new issues that come up. During Monique Samuels’ rainbow party, she invited guests to share their experiences with miscarriages. Ashley got up and talked about the pain she and her husband Michael Darby faced when she had her miscarriage. Candiace later said that Ashley’s speech was fake, which got back to Ashley.

During the dinner, Ashley brought that incident up to Candiace, who proceeded to make fun of Ashley’s speech by holding a butter knife up to her face as if it were a microphone. RHOP's Ashley, knowing that it was a sore subject for Candiace, made a jab about her living in a house that her mom was paying for. This infuriated Candiace so much that she waved the butter knife at Ashley threateningly until Chris dragged her away.

Heather’s $36k Dinner Party

Heather Dubrow RHOC The Real Housewives of Orange County

In a recent episode of The Real Housewives of Orange County, Heather Dubrow threw an elaborate sushi dinner for her girlfriends, which was catered by Nobu. It was an excuse to show off her new house, but Heather also took care to focus on little details, including wooden monogrammed sushi bowls and a huge ice sculpture of her initials. Little did she know that before the party, Shannon Beador started a rumor that Heather’s good friend Nicole James sued Terry Dubrow over a botched plastic surgery. Gina Kirschenheiter felt the need to share that with Heather during the party, which led to Heather storming off and demanding that production stop filming. She threatened to kick everyone out of her house and quit the show.

She eventually calmed down but was still visibly upset at Gina and Shannon for talking about her family. Fans were outraged that the guests ended up not eating the costly dinner because of the drama. When Terry asked Heather how much the party cost, she replied that it was a whopping $36k, which caused many fans’ jaws to drop.

The Dinner Party From Hell - Part 2

RHOBH The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills dinner party

When Kathy Hilton came onto The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in a “friend” role, she could never have imagined hosting a dinner party that would result in tears, expletives, and threats. Kathy’s formal dinner took her days to set up and featured expensive silver and crystal, elaborate floral arrangements, and caviar flown in from Russia. Of course, with the scandal surrounding Erika Girardi, there was bound to be drama. The group was already questioning Erika’s ever-changing story, and Erika was angry at Sutton Stracke for doubting her.

When Sutton Stracke, who was conveniently placed next to Erika, quietly tried to smooth things over, Erika bit her head off. The group attempted to get answers out of RHOBH's Erika, who asked why they were torturing her, as tears streamed down her face. Erika’s attempt at playing the victim fell short when Sutton told Erika not to say mean things to her, and Erika snarled, “Or WHAT?”
