Lisa Vanderpump claimed that the husband of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Denise Richards, Aaron Phypers, threatened to sue John Sessa.
Even though season 9 of the hit reality show recently wrapped up filming, there was still some drama going on behind the scenes between the ladies. The latest issue was caused by a text message that included Phypers and Vanderpump’s partner, Sessa. During an episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Richards was a guest and claimed that some incidences took place off-camera that included Vanderpump. Richards went on to say this was the reasoning behind the fallout between the two. Sessa was quick to defend his business partner and to remind Richards that it was Vanderpump Dogs that had helped rescue eight of her foster pups last year during the Woolsey Fires.
According to Reality Blurb, it is believed that Vanderpump leaked text messages recently between Phypers and Sessa, in which, Phypers threatened to sue Sessa for defamation of character regarding his wife, Richards. The leaked text message read:
“Hi John.. this is Denise’s husband. Not sure if you understand what defamation of character means, but if your twitter posts or any social media that is negative to my wife is not removed effective immediately, we will seek full legal action against you and all of those involved.. Please Cease and desist all other comments using any Likeliness Name or images of my wife Denise Richards or any of our family members. Thank you for your cooperation.”
In a message back to the couple, Vanderpump wrote that no good deed goes unpunished, saying there was no defamation in what Sessa had first said. Richards had often been seen as the peacemaker of the show who would always work toward reconciliation between the women and tried to bring a calm ending by saying thank you on her social media account for Vanderpump Dogs helping in such a horrendous time.
Vanderpump’s business partner, Sessa, had been in feuds before with the ladies of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Before Richards, he had a run-in with Dorit Kemsley, dubbed "puppygate." He had accused the housewife of adopting a dog from their foundation, and when the family decided they didn’t like the dog, they then returned it to a dog shelter instead of giving the animal back.
As of now, neither Sessa nor Richards have commented on the legal threat or if there would be one in the future. All the housewives seem placated for the moment, plotting out their next dispute. That said, anything is possible on this show - especially with such a sensitive situation - so only time will tell how everything plays out.
