They say everything is bigger in Texas, and The Real Housewives of Dallas has been no exception since its premiere in 2016. Now in its fifth season, the ladies of Dallas society have continued to up the ante each time out, keeping Bravo fans on the edge of their seats every week.
To conclude each season, executive producer Andy Cohen sits down with the cast to reunite and rehash all of the season's highs and lows. The reunion episodes of the Real Housewives franchise are notoriously wild, and Dallas has continued that trend with some truly noteworthy conflicts during its run.
Sesame Street Shade
When Kameron came into the fold in Season 2, she was immediately repulsed by Brandi's crude sense of humor. Throughout the season, she called Brandi "trashy," which ignited a feud. A viewer submitted a question for the reunion, asking Kameron, "How do you look down your nose at Brandi?" Kameron quickly disagreed with that depiction of their beef.
"We obviously have a lot of issues, Big Bird," Brandi quipped at Kameron. To which Kameron quickly responded, "If I'm Big Bird, you're Oscar the Grouch that lives in a trash can." The two continued to go back and forth, with Brandi accusing Kameron of using her zip code and affluent neighborhood to belittle the other cast members. And on the other hand, Kameron accused Brandi of putting people down under the guise of a joke.
A Restraining Order
Marie was a one-season friend of the Housewives. Despite her short time on the show, she impacted the first season with a nasty rumor. According to Marie, LeeAnne once went number two in a gift basket after a charity event. LeeAnne was outraged by Marie and her accusation, especially after the other Housewives started using it as ammunition against her. The poop-fueled feud continued for weeks.
At the reunion, Marie addressed the rumor and then called out some shocking allegations against LeeAnne. She told the group that during an off-camera interaction, LeeAnne screamed at her, threw a crystal bowl, and then later sent a threatening text saying, "Stop talking about me – or else." An alarmed Marie contacted the police and filed a restraining order. This begged the question: is being at the reunion violating the restraining order?
The First Reunion Walk-Off
In the show's first season, LeeAnne claimed that she heard that Marc and Cary Deuber's relationship started while Marc was still married to his ex-wife. During the reunion, Marc joined the women on stage while Andy addressed the rumors. LeeAnne went back and forth with the Deubers for what felt like hours. The couple couldn't understand why LeeAnne would go on the show and take a swipe at their marriage.
A defensive LeeAnne said she was convinced that Cary talked badly about her too, but there was nothing on camera to support that. Overwhelmed, Cary stormed off the stage in tears. It was the first time someone stormed off the stage at an RHOD reunion, but it certainly wouldn't be the last.
The Folding Chair
LeeAnne upset the group with some racist comments about her co-star, which caused friction with the entire cast. Andy was ready to dive into his line of questioning, but before he could, Brandi abruptly got left the stage.
She returned with a metal folding chair and told LeeAnne she needed to sit there instead of on the couch, so she could face the cast while addressing the controversy. LeeAnne didn't get up, but it was a wild and awkward moment that has since become a hilarious meme on Twitter.
Andy Cohen Vs. LeeAnne Locken
In the Season 4 reunion, the topic on everyone's mind was LeeAnne's racially charged comments towards Kary Brittingham. Andy and Kary wanted to know why LeeAnne never apologized. According to LeeAnne, the production team emailed her, instructing her not to contact Kary.
"That's not true," Andy quickly retorted, stopping LeeAnne right in her tracks. It turns out the email she was referencing came just two days before the reunion. She made the racist comments months ago, so her excuse fell flat. Andy caught LeeAnne in the middle of a lie and confirmed that the production company had nothing to do with her lack of apology.
Everyone's Scared Of LeeAnne
As LeeAnne prepared to go under the knife during the show's second season, she had a hot mic moment that left the other cast members uncomfortable. Moments before surgery, she was talking to Brandi behind a closed door, and the microphone captured LeeAnne saying disparaging things about Cary Deuber's marriage. She followed up with an ominous comment: "I grew up with a lot of things in my hands. They're not knives, they're just hands."
After seeing the chilling moment play out on TV, the other Housewives claimed they felt unsafe around LeeAnne. "How do you say that and threaten to kill me? What's the endgame with that?" Cary asked LeeAnne, pressing for an answer. Stephanie Hollman eventually chimed in, saying, "We can be mad at each other, but we can't threaten each other's lives." It was a surprisingly dark moment for the show, but LeeAnne was adamant that her comments shouldn't have been taken so literally.
'Frozen' And Surface Friendships
Fans did not expect a reference to the movie Frozen in the middle of a reunion, but the Dallas cast made it happen in the fourth season. Kameron was offended throughout the entire season because Stephanie called their bond a "surface friendship." It all came to a head during the reunion.
Kameron revealed that she referred the Hollman family to a country club, so she felt extra betrayed that Stephanie described their friendship in such a flippant way. To add to the offenses, Kameron called out Stephanie for calling her a "bully" in an interview. She went on to quote Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen, saying, "The fake cannot be trusted." Stephanie snapped right back and said, "Let it go, also as Elsa said."
LeeAnne's Wedding Food
LeeAnne talked about her fairytale wedding for several seasons, and fans finally saw her walk down the aisle in Season 4. However, all of the guests were annoyed by the five-hour gap between the ceremony and the reception. And then, to make matters worse, there wasn't a meal served at the reception, which Kary kept bringing up over and over again. LeeAnne insisted there was a caterer at the event, but footage from the show only revealed a few cheese trays.
LeeAnne eventually circled back with a different excuse: "If you really wanna know the truth, production has to eat and break." LeeAnne was insinuating that the Bravo crew's schedule was really responsible for the oddly planned event. Andy quickly clapped back, "That's not true ... I mean, we've done many weddings on 'The Housewives' that have shot straight through." Awkward.
Who Is The Real Star Of The Show?
D'Andra and LeeAnne broke the fourth wall during the Season 3 reunion when they bitterly bickered over who was truly the star of the show. Cary added fuel to the fire when she told the cast about something D'Andra said. "She said we would not have a show unless she was on it," Cary pointed out.
LeeAnne, who was on the show since the first season, disagreed with D'Andra's perspective. "We all sacrificed in season one to get to season two so you could even join," LeeAnne said. The two women went back and forth about who is the real leading lady of the show. Andy finally concluded the dispute by acknowledging that part of being a Housewife is overinflating your ego and feeling essential to the show. It is an ensemble show, after all.
Phone-Gate
"Phone-gate" was a huge storyline in Season 3. During the cast trip to Denmark, LeeAnne lost her phone in the hotel. Brandi returned it, but LeeAnne perceived the situation differently. She thought Brandi stole her phone and tried to break into it. So in defense, LeeAnne said she had an app where if someone hacked into her phone, it would immediately clone the nearest phone. In this case, the cloned phone would be Brandi's.
Of course, an app like this doesn't exist. But that didn't stop the ladies from arguing about it during the reunion. "No, I did not steal your phone, and you know that," Brandi firmly said to LeeAnne. "No, I don't know that," LeeAnne replied. The whole fight was so absurd because ultimately, LeeAnne did get her phone back, and there's no such thing as phone cloning.
