Erika Jayne from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills recently took a trip to Mexico, and some fans think that the photos she shared from her holiday are in poor taste. Throughout RHOBH season 11, fans and castmates have criticized Erika's social media presence. Housewives across franchises have also dissed Erika. Many people felt that her provocative posts were insensitive in light of the ongoing lawsuits against her husband, Tom Girardi. While victims have not sued Erika personally, she has been implicated endlessly in the press.

In many ways, Erika has carried on as she always has. If she was not complicit in her ex-husband's allegedly illegal behavior, as she claims, it could be argued that she justifiably feels no need to alter her public or private persona. However, Dorit and PK Kemsley suggested that she ought to have taken a more modest approach online. Even Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky chimed in with their opinions, to Erika's disappointment. Erika is a former Savage X Fenty ambassador who became famous for her sultry dance routines, so toning down her image probably makes her feel like she's betraying herself. Even after answering all of Andy Cohen's (and fans') questions at the four-part RHOBH reunion, some people still feel she should maintain a low profile.

In fact, Erika seems determined to do precisely the opposite. This week, she posted a modern triptych on Instagram, cataloging her vacation to Mexico. From eighties-style swimsuits to palm-printed minidresses, Erika was enjoying a shamelessly good time. However, all things considered, the recent photos were some of the least scandalous images to grace her socials. Nonetheless, critics went out of their way to criticize her frolicking. Erika captioned one post, "Fun in the MF sun ☀️ #finally." Many RHOBH fans feel that Erika's determination to live her best life is disrespectful to the plaintiffs in Tom's lawsuits, who have yet to receive clarity or justice. Erika said she will do the right thing for Tom's victims, and help lawyers find the truth in any way she can. Erika's final Instagram post showed a semi-formal evening look, as well as a promise to return to paradise.

All the negative feedback hasn't changed Erika's approach. Some praised Erika for shining bright and ignoring the haters. Others wanted her to go to prison or left trails of barf emojis in her comments section. As noted on the show, haters only seem to fuel Erika's fire, so negative energy may make her stronger. With or without support, it's hard to argue that Erika isn't resilient. She has promised to give her fans and critics a good show as she drives her career forward, come hell or high water. If one thing is for sure, it's that Lisa Rinna will have Erika's back through it all.

The next season of RHOBH will likely mean more positive and negative feedback for Erika. Hopefully, she will have new successes to share, as well as new vacation photos to distribute. How fans will receive her will likely depend on whether Tom's lawsuits produce any new answers. For now, it looks like a long and potentially rocky road lies ahead for Erika on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, which is bound to feature some colorful highs and lows.
