Denise Richards was negotiating a deal with Bravo before she decided to leave Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after just two seasons. Her decision was no doubt prompted by the accusations facing her this past season, but it seems that Andy Cohen wanted to keep her aboard.

Denise's departure may have been the result of one alleged affair. Denise Richards joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2018, adding reality tv star to her already impressive resumé. Unfortunately, her stint on the show has come to an end, seemingly at the hands of another woman who is no longer a housewife. RHOBH alum Brandi Glanville claimed that she and the former Bold and the Beautiful star slept together, an allegation which Denise quickly denied. Richards has been at odds with her co-stars ever since and dealing with people who've tracked her since the accusation. Her most public spat was between her and RHOBH's Lisa Rinna. Lisa was appalled after hearing news of the affair. Rinna felt betrayed by Denise, who had assured her that she wasn't close to Brandi. The accusations and rumors proved to be too much for Denise, and despite valiant efforts by Andy Cohen to keep her aboard, she is leaving.

Andy Cohen passionately expressed to Daryn Carp of People TV's Reality Check that he tried to reach an agreement with Denise, but it simply didn't work out, according to Reality Blurb. "I'm kind of living in that sadness." Andy lamented, "We were negotiating a deal with her and we couldn't reach an agreement on the deal. " The nature and details of the deal were unknown, but the Watch What Happens Live host was clearly fighting for her to stay. Daryn questioned her about her exit in general, noting that there was a lot of "Brandi drama" and "Denise drama". "It felt like this season, at least she wasn't owning up to a lot of the stuff that all the ladies believed was true", Daryn explained. Andy took a second to reflect, reminding viewers of Denise's family. "She is answering her truth and listen, also, she has a family and kids."

He is sympathetic to Denise Richards of 007 fame in general, "So, I mean, whatever happened, or didn't happen, I would imagine that it's something that maybe she didn't really care to discuss on a television show." Andy reminded viewers of Denise's husband and three daughters who could be affected by Brandi's allegations. He also took the time to admit that on a reality show (especially Real Housewives)once something is out there, it's impossible to unring that bell. Andy said, "The problem with the Housewives is once the cat's out of the bag, it's hard to put it back. So, that's the challenge." Andy acknowledged, "Once something is out there, it's out there and a lot of times it gets beat to death."

Despite Andy's efforts to stick up for Denise, these accusations may chase her for a while. Brandi isn't letting when it comes to her views about the alleged affair. Andy Cohen may not be the only one in Denise's corner. Fellow RHOBH cast member Garcelle Beauvais has voiced her own concerns over Denise's exit, seeing her as a close friend and also recognizing the effects that the alleged affair could have on her family.

While rumors of affairs are tales as old as time, these covert romances come with their own risks and people may always get hurt. Denise risked such secrets by being on a reality show in the first place, but to disregard her husband and children's feelings to expose something is especially heinous. Whatever Brandi was trying to achieve through her allegations, it affected Denise emotionally and threatened to shred the fabric of her family.
