No matter how divisive she is, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans can’t deny that former housewife Brandi Glanville manages to bring the drama every season—even when she’s not really on the show. Ever since season 3’s memorable Game Night showdown with Kim and Kyle, Brandi has given season 1's Camille Grammer a run for her money when it comes to being the show’s most hated housewife. A recent thread on a Real Housewives subreddit only furthered this widespread anti-Brandi sentiment as viewers giddily chimed in with their reasons for hating the reality star.

Though Brandi is widely reviled now, she was somewhat of a fan favorite when she first hobbled onto the show on a pair of crutches, playing the role of the underdog. This view is echoed by fans on the Reddit thread who recall having a soft spot for her before she showed her true colors in later seasons. In particular, fans cite her racist behavior towards fellow ex-housewife Joyce Giraud in season 4 of RHOBH as changing their perception of Brandi for the worst. Similarly, Brandi’s dedication in season 5 to breaking up Kim and Kyle’s relationship remains off-putting to most viewers, especially given how vulnerable Kim was during the season.

Several Redditors also cite what they see as her relative lack of character growth, thus fueling their dislike of Brandi. As many times as Brandi has been called out for her more offensive behavior, such as her racist comments about Joyce or her slapping former friend Lisa Vanderpump across the face, criticism has seemed to have fallen on deaf ears. Though Brandi will occasionally entertain her critics with a response, it is always in a defensive manner and never with the intentions to learn, grow, or own up to her actions.

As fans on the Reddit thread note, Brandi tends to chalk criticisms of her behavior up to people not being able to handle her supposed honesty and relentless “truth-telling.” Several commenters even went so far as to say that Brandi confuses being a “straight-shooter” with being an “a**hole,” when in reality she is merely the latter. Brandi, however, maintains that she is operating off of pure intentions and an obligation to the truth, a belief that is echoed in her recent interactions on Twitter as well as in her behavior on the latest season of RHOBH.

Whether or not Brandi will ever heed the critiques and behavioral warnings of fans and viewers is to be seen. Given how long she has been ignoring and brushing off audience feedback, it is hard to imagine her coming around to it anytime soon. Still, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills fans can hold onto hope that she’ll return to being a more balanced version of herself à la season 3 Brandi. Either way, it remains undeniable that Brandi Glanville is one of a kind.
