Lisa Rinna recently boasted about The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills being the most-watched show within the Housewives franchise in 2020. Here's the ratings that all of the Housewives series received this year.
The Housewives are known to bring the tea, shade and drama. Major U.S. cities from across the country have hosted the leading ladies for over 10 years. From the early days of Orange County, Atlanta and New York being the only franchises on the market, the show's popularity soon expanded to include New Jersey, Beverly Hills, Dallas, and Potomac. Salt Lake City is the newest addition to the franchise and has already grown a devoted fanbase who tunes in every week. Each franchise had it's own set of drama during their last season, but there was one that took the top spot on the ratings chart. Here's how each show's viewership performed in 2020.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills raked in the highest ratings in 2020. The ladies in the 90210 received a rating of 1.696 for season 10, Us Weekly reports. The season's top scandal came after Brandi Glanville unearthed shocking allegations of having had an affair with Denise Richards. She also accused the Wild Things star of having an open marriage with her husband Aaron Phyper. Despite Denise breaking a fourth wall while fiercely denying the claims, she slapped a majority of the cast with cease-and-desist letters. As a result, Denise left the show and decided to not return for a third season. The drama was so suspenseful, it landed the show in the top spot in the franchise for 2020.
Season 13 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta garnered 1.418 million viewers. The season was the first in years where NeNe Leakes wasn't a part of the cast. Returning housewives include Kandi Burress, Cynthia Bailey, Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams. Newcomers include Drew Sidora and Letoya Ali. With the season being filmed during the pandemic, it's the first time fans watched the ladies don face shields and masks in correlation with health precautions. While the season has received mixed reviews, fans are still tuning in to see the lead up to Cynthia's X-rated bachelorette party where stripper gate allegedly occurred.
Despite Tinsley Mortimer leaving The Real Housewives of New York season 12 early, the season still received a rating high of 1.325. Dorinda Medley was axed from the show over the summer as producers added Ebony K. Williams as the first Black housewife on the franchise. Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, Dolores Catania, Margaret Josephs, Jennifer Aydin and Jackie Goldschneider brought in 1.321 million viewers for season 10 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. All six ladies are set to return to season 12 and fans are waiting to see Teresa and her new boyfriend Luis Ruelas. The Real Housewives of Potomac brought the drama for season five. The drama was at an all-time high as Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard's feud turned physical. The series' highest rating was 1.309.
Meanwhile, there were reports that The Real Housewives of Orange County saw a drop in ratings for season 13. Kelly Dodd shut down rumors that she caused the dip in viewership. However, the show received a ratings high of 1.123 million viewers. Though The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is receiving the lowest ratings in the franchise with only 0.785, executive producer Andy Cohen confirmed the show will return for another season.
