There's something that comes over the Housewives when they're together at a dinner table. Whether it's the number of cocktails they've had or the breaking bread just feels like the right time to get everything out in the open, there are more dramatic moments than happy ones at dinner in The Real Housewives franchise.
The interesting thing is that these dinnertime blowups occur no matter the city — and they often make the best episodes. From Atlanta to Beverly Hills, if a Housewife wants a calm meal, it's best to have it be one-on-one instead of the entire group because if there's anything these Real Housewives dinners have shown, it's that not too many good things come out of group dinners.
The Leg Throw Seen Around The World (RHONY)
She wasn't the most beloved Housewife during her time on The Real Housewives of New York, but did Aviva Drescher leave the show too soon? Aviva had plenty of arguments during her final season on RHONY, but the moment she's most known for was her fight at a bustling restaurant for an event.
After bickering with Carole Radziwill, Heather Thomson, and Kristen Taekman, Aviva was tired of the women calling her fake or inauthentic. To prove her point, Aviva said, "The only thing that is artificial or fake about me is this!" and she slammed her prosthetic leg on the table. Some of the women were so horrified that they ran away as other guests at the event gasped in shock.
A Wild Time In Puerto Rico (RHOA)
In the seventh season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, the Housewives traveled to Puerto Rico for a little vacation, but their lovely vacation dinner was ruined when former Housewife Claudia Jordan went head-to-head with NeNe Leakes.
As likable as Claudia and NeNe were, it all started when Claudia addressed the table about having mature conversations instead of being petty with one another. This rubbed NeNe the wrong way and a game of insults ensued. The funniest part about this tit-for-tat argument was that the other Housewives giggled and added their two cents in their confessionals. The shade being thrown was prime reality television.
Clip, Clip, Clip! (RHONY)
RHONY fans miss Dorinda Medley now that she's no longer on The Real Housewives. She had so many iconic one-liners and moments that are still repeated today — just like this one from season 9.
While at an incredibly busy Italian restaurant, the women got into an argument over Sonja Morgan's idea for Tipsy Girl being too similar to Bethenny Frankel's Skinny Girl. Dorinda eventually got involved and couldn't stop herself from talking after too many glasses of wine. RHONY fans supported Dorinda's clapbacks but she sure did cause a scene. After throwing insults at Sonja, Dorinda started screaming, "Clip! Clip! Clip!" as a reference to cutting her out of her life. The moment was so dramatic that fans can't stop rewatching.
The New Jersey Table Flip (RHONJ)
Despite what haters say about The Real Housewives of New Jersey's Teresa Giudice, she's one of the longest-running Housewives in the franchise and is incredibly entertaining season after season.
In the first season, the women were at a nice dinner but things took a turn when an argument between Danielle Staub and the women broke out. Teresa was relatively quiet throughout the bickering, but the second Danielle told Teresa to "Pay attention," something in Teresa snapped. In a string of iconic lines, Teresa told Danielle off while flipping the entire table over. Food and drinks went everywhere while Teresa's husband had to pull her to the side. The moment is still heavily talked about today.
Who Said That?! (RHOA)
In the ninth season of RHOA, the Housewives had a great time on vacation at Kenya Moore's beach house in South Carolina. At dinner, everyone was laughing about the day they had — even a few enemies made amends. Where the dinner took a turn was when Marlo Hampton unleashed a rumor she heard about Kandi Burruss.
Kandi found the rumor humorous but one of the best parts was when Kandi, Porsha, and Kenya all said, "Who said that?" right after another. As dramatic as this moment is, it proved that Marlo was one of the best friends in The Real Housewives franchise.
Shannon Beador & The Plate That Wasn't Hers (RHOC)
On The Real Housewives of Orange County, Kelly Dodd and Shannon Beador did not end on good terms. Although Shannon is still a Housewife, Kelly has since left the show. With this being the case, fans now rewatch this episode just to see this dinner fiasco.
In the scene, Shannon is bothered by the fact that Kelly Dodd was joining the Housewives for dinner. She can't even sit across from Kelly without screaming at the top of her lungs. Things get heated when Shannon screams profanity at Kelly and gives her the middle finger, but they get even worse when Kelly body-shamed Shannon. Shannon chucked a plate off the table and the Housewives were asked to leave by someone from the restaurant.
Broken Wine Glasses In Mexico (RHONJ)
The women of New Jersey go hard when they argue — even on vacation. While in Mexico, tensions between the cast were rising and came to a head at dinner. Danielle, Jennifer Ayden, and Teresa were on one side of the table fighting with those across from them.
Margaret Josephs and Danielle insulted each other, which resulted in Margaret throwing her wine in Danielle's face after Danielle brought up Margaret's kids. After the throw, Danielle began throwing every dish she could find at Margaret before security came. Suddenly, the rest of the wives began taking sides. Jennifer then broke a wine glass and warned Melissa, which topped off the night. This RHONJ dinner episode was monumental.
The Dinner Party From Hell (RHOBH)
One of the more legendary dinner episodes in the entire Real Housewives franchise was '"The Dinner Party from Hell" in RHOBH. In the episode, the Housewives went over to Camille Grammer's home for a dinner party where Camille invited a psychic friend of hers, Allison DuBois.
Because of Camille's rocky relationship with Kyle, Allison was anything but kind to her and began spewing hateful things about Kyle's "future." The entire situation was bizarre and it spiraled into even more fights at the table between Kim Richards and Taylor Armstrong.
A Pointed Butter Knife (RHOP)
In season 4 of The Real Housewives of Potomac, Candiace Dillard and Ashely Darby were not exactly friendly while having food with friends. Ashley questioned Candiace about some of the things she heard Candiace was saying about her behind her back, which didn't turn out well.
Candiace did an impression of Ashley holding a butter knife, which women found comical, but where it became wild was when Candiace pointed the knife at Ashley after Ashley brought up her mom. Both women stood up and defended themselves but the butter knife was far too much and it halted the dinner.
A Wild Night In Amsterdam (RHOBH)
On an RHOBH vacation to Amsterdam, the group sat down for a nice dinner, with Yolanda Hadid as the host, but Kim Richards was holding on to some hostility against Eileen Davidson. Kim called Eileen a beast and admitted she didn't like anything about her.
Lisa Rinna defended Eileen's characters, which then made her Kim's next target. Kim mentioned that she had dirt on Lisa's husband, which did not sit well with the wife of Harry Hamlin. Lisa threatened Kim and broke her wine glass on the table before others held her back and everyone was separated. It was one of the most iconic episodes in RHOBH history.
