The Real Housewives franchise isn't short of controversy. Many cast members have done their fair share of shifty things in its many cities. While some of these things have been harmless enough to laugh off, some fans believe there are a few housewives over the years who weren't given enough of a scolding for their actions.

The franchise is a fun, easy watch on the surface, but there have been some instances where things have gotten heavy, and potentially damaging. Luann de Lesseps' Halloween costume from The Real Housewives of New York City season 10 lives on in people's minds, for example. The situation between Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard-Bassett from The Real Housewives of Potomac season 5 is also memorable.

Of course, there are times the women who have done something wrong have learned from their actions and made steps to move forward. But not every case of controversy is so easily resolved. Reddit user whoareyouindisworld wondered what moments in The Real Housewives franchise viewers seemed to gloss over.

Bethenny Vs. Luann

In The Real Housewives of New York City season 8, during a trip to Dorinda Medley's Blue Stone Manor, Bethenny and Luann got into an argument, which started with Luann joking that Bethenny had copied her hairstyle. Eventually, things escalated, with Bethenny calling Luann a "sl*t and a liar". She doubled down on her comments at the reunion, and when Andy described that what sl*t-shaming was, Bethenny responded "if it is, call me guilty."

Brandi Vs Joyce

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 4 saw two new additions to the cast: Carlton Gebbia and Joyce Giraud. Brandi Glanville's track record for drama hadn't been squeaky clean up to this season, so viewers had come to expect some questionable moments from her. But a moment that fans believe doesn't get addressed as much as it should was when the cast was in Palm Springs by the pool. When Joyce admitted she couldn't swim, Brandi tried to make it seem like she understood why, by saying "you're a Black person."

Gina's Insensitivity

In the midst of tension between Gina Kirschenheiter and Noella Bergener on The Real Housewives of Orange County season 16, a trip to Aspen got ugly. After a night of drinks, Gina began to get fed up with Noella's attitude. When Shannon Beador tried to remind Gina that her father had recently passed away, Gina replied "sh*t happens." Although Shannon condemned this comment in her confessional, she didn't say anything to reprimand Gina on the night.

As a progressing society moving forward and becoming more hyper-aware of when not to say certain things, it seems cast members in more recent seasons of The Real Housewives are able to recognize when they've stepped out of line or done something problematic. However, there are still moments here and there. Fans believe there are still plenty of other instances where cast members haven't done enough to be vocal about something said by one of the other housewives.
