There have been rumors that a cast shakeup is coming to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, and executive producer Andy Cohen recently teased what's to come in the season 14 cast. After watching only five full-time housewives last season, it looks like the fans should get ready for an additional housewife on RHOA season 14. There are reports that both Cynthia Bailey and Porsha Williams could be departing the series, and an OG housewife could return.
After announcing her unexpected and surprising romance with Simon Guobadia in May 2021, Porsha has been at the center of backlash. With her getting engaged in just one month of dating her friend's ex-husband, some viewers think that Porsha is guilty of stabbing Falynn Guobadia in the back. Falynn and Simon appeared on RHOA season 13 as a married couple, so many fans wonder how Porsha managed to fall in love with Simon in such a short amount of time. As a result, Porsha is reportedly reluctant to return next season to avoid the cast attacking her relationship. Meanwhile, Cynthia's fairytale story doesn't have much else to share and many think it's her time to go.
It's said that the cast of Real Housewives of Atlanta season 14 is so up in the air that production has been pushed back to early 2022. In turn, producer Andy Cohen recently teased what they could do when it comes to the cast lineup. "You know what? We are noodling with the configuration of Atlanta as we speak," Andy told ET. When asked about the rumors regarding Porsha and Cynthia's fate on the show, the WWHL host gave a hint of how many ladies will be cast next season. "I just threw out a little piece of paper that has the names of who I believe the cast will be," he revealed. "I am not going to show you... there are six names on this list."
Six cast members are more than the five stars who starred on RHOA season 13. Porsha, Cynthia, Kandi Burruss, Kenya Moore, and Drew Sidora carried the first season following OG NeNe Leakes' exit. Meanwhile, there's been chatter that fellow OG star Sheree Whitfield could be set to return to the show once again. She's been enjoying the return of her boyfriend Tyrone Gilliam, who had been released from prison earlier this year. It's said that Sheree is willing to return to the show, but only in a full-time role with lots of screen time. Moreover, a longtime friend of the show, Marlo Hampton, could finally become a full-time housewife.
Marlo has helped bring the drama since the early seasons and has been long overdue for a peach of her own. If Porsha is truly considering an exit from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, it leaves room for another hopeful to take her spot. Cynthia could either leave the show, get demoted to a friend, or remain a full-time cast member considering Porsha's rumored exit. There are plenty of possibilities, but it looks like Andy and the producers have their final six cast members lined up.
